Wow. We did it! We actually freakin’ did it!! Lucky 22 baby! Today marks 22 years since Triple J’s first opened its doors on May 1, 2004. THANK YOU, YUKONERS!!! Twenty-two years of evolving, adapting, pivoting, picking up the pieces, persevering and pushing through new eras with a whole lot of heart. 🩵Triple J’s has fundamentally been built on passion and community — on blood, sweat, tears, and an unwavering love for what we do. We are taking time to reflect, to honour the journey that has brought us to this milestone anniversary.
We were music to our core. What started as an independent music shop evolved into so much more — for years, we were a hub for counter-culture, event promotion and festival production. We have always been a creative space, bringing hundreds of events and ideas to life. We’ve supported countless musicians, sponsored hundreds of events, and curated Yukon’s tattoo and piercing industry. We remain the oldest tattoo and piercing studio in the Yukon, continuing to host artists from all over the world.
Along the way, we’ve moved through four locations, planted roots by purchasing a historic building in downtown Whitehorse, and built an incredible team of staff, tattoo artists, and piercers who have each left their mark on this journey. In 2019, we opened our sister company, Canna Space, becoming the first licensed cannabis dispensary in Canada’s North. We are fiercely proud to be the trailblazer of cannabis in the Yukon.
We’re especially grateful of the impact beyond our walls — donating $100,000 to local events and organizations, and raising nearly $500,000 over the past 20+ years for Yukon animals in need. Through Kona’s Coalition, our non-profit that ran for a decade, we were able to help thousands of animals and give back to a community that has given us so much.
22 is our lucky number, and today we celebrate every person who has supported us along the way. Whether you got your first piercing or tattoo (or 10th), attended your first rave, hip hop, metal, punk show, we DJd your wedding, or gave you a stage to perform, whether bought your first b**g or vinyl or hair dye, metal shirt, or goodr sunglasses – we thank n love you!
