⭐️ Staff Spotlight ⭐️
Marley Brown is the owner and director of Marley’s Dance Effex in Weyburn and Carlyle, Saskatchewan. She is the proud mother of three children and has been happily married to her husband, Scott, since 2009.
Marley began dancing at the young age of three in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, under the direction of Denise Maisonneuve at Denee School of Dance. As a young dancer, she was fortunate to experience many incredible opportunities. She toured with Hoctor’s Dance Caravan for two summers, assisted some of the industry’s leading professionals, and attended summer intensives in South Carolina and Detroit, among many other training opportunities. Throughout her dance career, Marley has participated in numerous workshops, conventions, competitions, and examinations, earning various awards and accolades along the way.
Marley is passionate about providing her students with a wide range of exciting opportunities and experiences in the ever-evolving world of dance. She believes in fostering a positive, supportive environment where dancers can develop not only their technical skills but also confidence, discipline, and lifelong friendships.
She has completed extensive training through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet and holds her Licentiate Certification in Tap and Associate Certification in Jazz. Marley is also an accredited ADAPT instructor in both Jazz and Tap.
In addition to directing Marley’s Dance Effex, Marley is the founder and host of Inspirations of Dance, an annual dance competition that brings together dancers and studios from across Southeast Saskatchewan. Her dedication to dance education, leadership, and community involvement has made a lasting impact on the dance community.
In May 2026, Marley was honoured as the recipient of the Women of Distinction – Legacy in Arts & Culture Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to arts education, and mentorship.
Marley has a true passion for dance and loves watching her students blossom into confident, capable individuals. Her favourite styles to teach are Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical, and she especially enjoys working with the studio’s youngest dancers in the Tiny Tot program.
When she is not at the dance studio, you can find Miss Marley spending time with her family on the deck, cheering from the hockey rink, football field, or baseball diamond, or enjoying hunting and fishing adventures with her husband and children.
Marley looks forward to welcoming new students, reconnecting with returning dancers, and sharing another exciting season filled with growth, creativity, friendship, and a love of dance.
