Erin Pickard!

After attending WAMF as a vendor for several years, Erin decided she wanted to help make the festival even better. Her philosophy is simple: if you want to see improvement or positive change, you have to get involved. Considering everything she brings to WAMF, we’re certainly glad she did!

For one beautiful summer day, Jubilee Park became something a little different. ❤️

There was music drifting across the grass. Artists and makers sharing what they create. Food worth wandering across the park for. Kids playing. Friends catching up. People arriving with lawn chairs, finding a spot in the sun or shade, and simply enjoying the day. Some stayed for hours. Some stopped by for a little while. People came when it worked for them, wandered at their own pace, found something they loved, and became part of the day. And that might be our favourite thing about WAMF. Community doesn’t have to mean everyone doing the same thing at the same time. Sometimes it’s simply creating a place where people can come together.

To our musicians, makers, food vendors, community groups, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who spent part of their Saturday with us: thank you. You filled Jubilee Park with music, art, food, laughter and community.

This is what a summer day should be. ❤️

A huge thank you to Soundcore band members Amanda Filbert, Tom Henderson, Patrick Watkins and Dale Aitchison. They are not only amazing musicians but also the festival’s volunteer equipment and sound crew. They were onsite first thing, throughout the day, performed in that sun and heat, and the last to leave, while still having to unpack the gear when they got home. We really could not have done it yesterday without them ❤️

🎉 The answer is… Taylor May Art!

For Taylor, creating art doesn’t end when a painting is finished. Every month, she sends original artwork to subscribers around the world, spreading a little creativity and a lot of joy through the mail. It’s a wonderful reminder that art has a way of connecting people, no matter where they live.

Looks like everyone is pretty much set up and ready for opening at 11:00 am! Music starts at noon, but the food vendors and booths will be open for business!

❤️ Today, it all comes to life. ❤️

For the past few weeks, we’ve introduced you to the musicians who will fill the park with music. The makers bringing things they dreamed up and created with their own hands. The food vendors who will keep us very well fed. The community groups doing incredible things in our community. The volunteers who make this festival possible. And the sponsors and community partners who help us bring it all together. We’ve shared their pictures. We’ve told you their stories. We’ve given you a little glimpse of what’s waiting for you. Today, you get to walk into the Facebook feed we’ve spent the last month creating. ❤️

Come hear the music. Taste the food. Meet the makers. Discover something new. Find your thing. And spend a summer Saturday with us in Jubilee Park.
