Tomorrow we are in lovely Picton, Ontario at the fantastic book store Books & Company for a book signing of The Chip Stand! 2-4 PM at 289 Picton Main Street.

Come out to see us, get a book signed and give us your best chip stand recommendations. We will have free stickers for anyone buying a book and a custom drawing as well (time permitting). See the last slide for some examples.

We were interviewed by Jadine Ngan who wrote a great piece about us and The Chip Stand book and our Every Chip Stand project.

They showcase 10 of our illustrations over five pages with each illustration accompanied by a blurb from us about the chip stand itself or the process of making the piece.

Book tour recap!

We started our mini book tour a couple weeks ago with a book launch at Novel Idea (Kingston) with a conversation with author Peter Counter. Then we had a book signing at The Book's Better (Smiths Falls), a presentation for the Newboro Historical Society (amazing turnout!), a book launch at Queen Books in Toronto, and an event at Piques & Valleys in Dundas.

Thank you to everyone who came out to buy a book and support us and your independent bookshops. Thank you all as well for tolerating Joel's chip-related puns.

Coming up this weekend we have a book signing at Perfect Books in Ottawa on Sunday the 17th, from 1-3pm.

The following weekend, May 23rd, we will be in Picton at from 2-4.

We hope to see you there!

Résumé de notre tournée de promotion !

Nous avons débuté notre mini-tournée il y a quelques semaines par un lancement de livre chez Novel Idea (Kingston), avec l'auteur Peter Counter. Nous avons ensuite fait une session de dédicaces à The Book's Better (Smiths Falls), une présentation pour la Société historique de Newboro (un grand succès !), un lancement chez Queen Books à Toronto et un événement chez Piques & Valleys à Dundas.

Un grand merci à tous ceux qui sont venus acheter un livre et merci de nous soutenir, ainsi que vos librairies indépendantes. Merci également pour votre patience face au jeux de mots de Joel sur les «chips»!
Cette fin de semaine, nous serons chez Perfect Books à Ottawa pour signer des livres; le dimanche 17 mai , de 13h à 15h.
La fin de semaine suivante, le 23 mai, nous serons à Picton chez Books & Company de 14h à 16h.

Happy Indie Bookstore Day! We had a great time signing books and meeting people at The Book’s Better in Smiths Falls, a wonderful bookshop with lovely books and gifts and a friendly owner, Jennifer, who used to own the chip wagon where we went to lunch after our appearance at her store.

Nothing like garlic Parmesan fries to satiate that hunger after signing books!

Don’t miss the pic of Be Scared of Everything by our friend Peter Counter . This amazing book helped us better understand the meaning behind horror and to appreciate it so much more than ever.

We stumbled across this fun picture book about poutine today! Makes a great accompaniment to The Chip Stand.

In the first slide we made an alternate version of this year’s awesome Indie Bookstore poster by . Pigeons roam chip stands too of course but the gull has become something of a mascot for us!

We had a great time last night at our book launch at Novel Idea Bookstore with our friend Peter Counter interviewing us about the book.

🐾It's National Beagle Day! 🐾

We love our beagles Pistache (11) and Spudd (5). They're the best little dudes who enjoy visiting chip stands where they often get a fry or two (it's never enough) for good behaviour.

When we started our chip stand project in 2015 we had our beagle Peanut with us. He was the ultimate fry hound and would fend off the gulls and gobble up all the fallen fries at a chip stand.

🐾C'est la Journée nationale du Beagle !🐾

Nous adorons nos beagles Pistache (11 ans) et Spudd (5 ans). Ils sont les meilleurs chiens qui adorent aller aux chip stands où ils reçoivent souvent une ou deux frites (jamais assez !) en récompense de leur bonne conduite.

Lorsque nous avons lancé notre projet d'Every Chip Stand en 2015, notre beagle Peanut était encore avec nous. Véritable monstre de frites, il époeurait les mouettes et dévorait toutes les frites tombées à terre.

Voici quelques photos de nos deux compagnons.
