A little family floral bouquet tattooed over two sessions, bringing together a lily and two roses in one of my favorite color palettes 😍

The contrast between the bright pink and the deep black 😮‍💨🤌🏼🤌🏼 I’d love to take on more larger-scale floral projects like this ✨

11 months healed rose tattoo, ready to add the rest to this piece ✨

I’m trying out IGs new individual captions so swipe to read the rest 🤗👉🏼

After living with this unfinished tattoo for almost a year, my client realized she’d love to add an open-faced lily—something a little different from our original design.

Sometimes living with a tattoo sparks even better ideas. Combined with my own growth as an artist, it creates opportunities to evolve a design into something that feels even more meaningful.

I love collaborating with my clients throughout that process. While not every change is possible, I’ll always be honest about what can—and can’t—be achieved. 🫶🏼

Swipe through to see how this design evolved. 💖

Start of session 2! ✨

After living with it for almost a year, we decided to redesign the rest before moving forward—and I’m so glad we did!

We swapped the closed lily for an open-faced lily, which meant changing the second rose to a more closed bloom for a stronger overall balance. 💖

As a bonus, that change led me to a reference that was much closer to the bouquet of roses her husband often buys her. 🥹

She also wanted to add the names of her most precious girls in her life 🤗

This was our original concept before we refined the overall design.
Sometimes a little time leads to an even stronger outcome. 💖

One of my favourite things about designing tattoos is the ability to tell a story without words. 💖

This twist on a color realistic rose was created in memory of my client’s mom, who passed away three years ago. The idea was having the stem and leaves dark to represent the hardships she faced throughout her life, while the colour emerging through the petals symbolizes how she still built something beautiful despite everything she went through. 💞

It was such an honour to create a piece with so much meaning behind it. 🙏🏼

Fun fact: after our session I wasn’t happy with the photos I had taken, I realized they were taken in the wrong format 😢 however he was kind enough to come back a couple hours later so I could try again!! 🙌🏼 which is why you might notice a few marks left behind from the tattoo armour bandage. 💖

I’m so grateful for clients who trust me with both their stories and my sometimes perfectionist tendencies. 😊

If you’ve been thinking about a meaningful tattoo in Kelowna BC, DM me I’d love to help bring your vision to life. ✨

A year ago, I would have looked at this flower and thought, “that’s yellow” I need a light, medium, and dark yellow to recreate it.

Now I see temperature shifts, value changes, reflected light, warm shadows, cool shadows, and dozens of subtle color transitions that I never noticed before. 🤯

One of the biggest breakthroughs in my realism journey came from realizing that color isn’t about having more ink caps on my tray. It’s about training my eye to see more.

I spent countless hours studying color theory, simplifying my palette, mixing colors from scratch, and learning to approach color more like an oil painter 🎨

A huge part of that growth came from the mentorship and color theory principles I’ve been studying under this year. Opening my eyes to color theory challenged me to rethink everything I thought I knew about color and pushed me to see realism in a completely different way.

Why does that matter?? 👇🏼

Because the more I understand colour, the more depth, dimension, and life I can bring into every tattoo. ✨

And the wild thing? The more I understand color, the more fascinating it becomes!!

Have you ever had a moment where everything suddenly just clicked? 🤌🏼 Something that was right in front of your face but you didn’t even notice it before?? 💥
