I’ve followed Abrupt Decay since their initial first releases and always loved the freshness that they brought to an extremely saturated landscape, and always kept a close eye on hopes of someday making some noise together. Duggy and myself flew to Calgary to catch Mis Sigs last show and Trench tear it up. I bumped into Grant outside and expressed my love for the band … and a few short months later, we were gearing up to record their masterpiece.

Not only are each and every one of these people the absolute salt of the earth, they are tremendous artists and players. Even from the demos I knew they had something special on their hands… but truly wasn’t prepared for how special. “TIOOCIAWONO” is relentless, interesting and in my humblest of opinions stands out in a genre that … is extremely hard to make an impact on.

If you enjoy chaotic math-core with an artsy fantastical chewy center, this one is for you.

I can’t thank you all enough for trusting Duggy and I with your baby. 1 blown amp head, countless late nights, blown out voices, Mac and cheese in the studio entrance way …. And a thousand laughs. I just want to do it all again. Love you all dearly. ❤️❤️❤️

“Wound Channel” brand new mega EP is now available to stream wherever you consume music.

hit me up years ago asking if I’d be down to mix his EP he’d been working on. Given the nature of the first conversations I was expecting a hardcore project of sorts, but I wasn’t expecting a true masterpiece. I was floored on my first listen. It was angry, artsy and absolutely brutal.

Fast forward a couple years and here we are. It’s beyond clear the heart put into these songs, interludes and production. It’s a body of music that should be listened to front to back to be truly enjoyed, and I urge you to do so.

.bc newest EP “Horizons” is finally here. The lads and I worked tirelessly and meticulously to craft what you hear, and we had an absolute blast doing so. Beyond stoked to have been a part of this EP and truly happy and proud of the results.

brand new EP “Serene in Violent Oceans” is available any and everywhere you stream music.

I was introduced to Kat through a mutual friend (Dylan from the Wild). Kat needed to track some vocals to one of her house tracks before she headed back to Greece. We immediately hit it off and started working on new music in a bit of a new direction. We wrote several songs in a sort of “dark pop” vein… and while they were great it just wasn’t quite right. I asked Kat what she liked to listen to and she said “metal”. I dropped my guitar to drop F … and off we went.

Serene in Violent Oceans was written and tracked in just under 2 weeks and flew out of us. Everything was seamless and easy and above all finally felt like the perfect direction for Kats voice. I’m very grateful in the trust and space Kat gave me as a songwriter to just do what I needed to do, and all the amazing musicians that lent their talents to the project. The collaboration on this project was magical on all fronts.

.cuttingroom.floor new 3 song EP is available anywhere you stream music, along with 3 videos to watch on YouTube.

(serration, mortality rate) contacted me over a year ago to track his side project he was keen to get out of the demo phase. We tracked the 3 tunes with on the skins, Jake on guitars and on leads. I was instantly in love with how it was coming together and asked who was singing … Jake said “🤷‍♂️”. I threw together a quick vocal demo and the rest was history.

It was an absolute pleasure tracking and engineering these tracks and getting to hop back on the mic a little bit. Huge thanks to Jake for letting me be a part of his brain child. ❤️❤️❤️

latest EP “Hara Kiri” is out on all streaming platforms. What started as JUST tracking drums quickly turned into much more, and I’m beyond grateful to the lads for their trust and patience as we went through the process. Their newest EP is absolutely punishing, beautiful and full of all the Death Machine riffs we all know and love. I had an absolute blast (hehe) being even a small part of it. If you’re a fan of anything technical and metal … I urge you to take 20 minutes out of your day and give this a spin.

Colter hit me up randomly one day and said “want to be a part of my new death core project?”. The answer was pretty fu***ng easy …. Ummm ya! Colter already had RAD demos and we booked in time to track everything. It took Colter and I just a little under a week to get it all laid down. And could be one of the funnest / most unproductive studio sessions ever (cuz we can’t shut up about movies). Colter is a mad man with writing. And I’m just beyond honoured to be around to contribute the small bits I did.

Killing is unapologetically death core worship. Paying homage to all the bands we adored in the early 2000s.

“Between Inverted Worlds” is upon us. And is without a doubt Trench’s most fierce, artistic and heartfelt release to date. The record was recorded over 4 separate weeks, but was only meant to be 2 …

I was tracking another artist when my computer suddenly started to act … odd. I wasn’t worried as I back up my files to 5 separate hard drives. But upon taking my computer in, I was informed that there was data corruption… and the data corruption had affected my hard drives as well. This is every producers worst nightmare, as hundreds of random files had been lost and were just fu***ng … gone. I spent hours each night staying up till 1/2 in the morning trying to recover them. But alas, they were gone.

I called the boys and told them the news. And flew a few of them out to re-record the files that had gone missing. As sh*tty as it was, we had a great time. And recorded some of my favourite and most memorable parts on the record. Without that computer crash the record may not have been what it is today.

Trench are family to us here at Oodelally, and BIW our 4th excursion with them. We’re humbled by the trust they have in us to bring their vision to sonic reality. We love you Trench.

“Thrones” is here!

A little over a year and half ago I stumbled across a YouTube video of some very young musicians absolutely CRUSHING at our local watering hole and venue . I was shocked at the level of musicianship and intensity in which they were performing… even through a crudely recorded iPhone video. Through some mutual contacts I started to put my hat in the ring (so to speak). A few months went by and low and behold I received an email from band “momager” extraordinary Ginny.

I met the entire FTF family all at once and they interviewed me in my command room at my studio, and we all hit it off. I got the call almost the next day that they’d like to work with me on their EP. We dove into creating the record very soon after, and it was magic. We all got along like peas and carrots and the record was recorded with ease.

It’s hard not to mention their ages as I never wanted that to be a factor in them drawing attention in the rock community. But, it truly is remarkable, as they play better than most musicians double their age. As a fellow bass player myself, .b.bass blew me away with her compositions. Her baselines are like Geddy Lee with filth. .g.drummer is so precise and creative with his parts and … he hits harder than any drummer I’ve had in the studio (we nearly had to change Tom skins as he dented them day 1). is an insanely tight guitar player and it’s the first time I haven’t seen grab the guitar from the artist to lay down parts as he hears them 😂. She is also one of the best singers I’ve had in the studio. Flawless, take after take.

The songs the band brought to the table were also well beyond their years. We chose from a menu of 8 songs. And decided unanimously on the 5 you hear today.

I could go on and on and on. But I’ll just say I’m beyond grateful to have been a part of this record, and these kids are the real deal and deserve everything coming their way. 💙

For over 6 years since I started doing music production, I’ve always dreamed of opening up my own studio. Now after many years of being crammed in my previous studio space, Creative BC and the Province of B.C. have helped me make this a reality. I am truly grateful beyond words for the opportunity. So many records have already been made inside these walls and I’m ready to make even more. Huge shoutout to for all her incredible guidance as well.
