Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery

Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery A long-standing destination for contemporary art for international tourists and regional citizens.

The Clay & Glass is a long-standing site of excellence and a destination for contemporary art for international tourists and regional citizens. We host critically-acclaimed exhibitions that challenge ideas and perceptions of the definitions of art, craft and design today. With an emphasis on Canadian artists, our exhibitions also support international and regional artists. Our Gallery Shop is reco

gnized on its own merits as a fine craft gallery, showing the best of Canadian ceramic and glass work. A relevant and dynamic cultural organization, the Gallery provides supportive education programs to people from across the Region. Using exhibitions as a starting point, individuals develop arts vocabulary, arts appreciation and cultivate confidence in their interpretation of contemporary artworks. People who return to The Clay & Glass many times come to understand that the Gallery is a space with dynamic exhibitions, ever-changing hands-on programs and multiple opportunities for learning.

Opening on September 18 at from 7 – 9pm, Neon Canada: The Art of Electrified Glass.

Neon Canada presents the work of contemporary artists working in traditional, hand-bent neon. Exploring the ways in which words and images can convey a wide range of non-commercial messages through neon, as well as the innate sensory qualities of neon, the exhibition will create an emotive and striking visual display. With bold colours, a subtle flicker, and a gentle hum, traditional neon is evocative by its nature. Together, Neon Canada conveys the breadth of possibilities for contemporary neon in art and celebrates the unique properties of this increasingly rare form of art.

On until January 11, 2027.

Opening on September 18 at from 7 – 9pm, Faith Layard: Verdant Strata.

There is no canvas more expansive than the natural world. Its lush colour, intricate ecosystems, and quiet transformations provide the foundation for Faith Layard’s luminous vitreous enamel works. Rooted in close observation and reverence for the environment, Layard translates the vitality of flora, fauna, shifting landscapes, and organic rhythms into richly layered surfaces of glass and metal.

On until January 11, 2027.
