Firefighters remain on the scene of an overnight fire at the ethanol plant in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police remind motorists to avoid the area until further notice.

Public Advisory Update:
The fire at the ethanol plant located at 275 Bloomfield Road, Chatham has been extinguished. No injuries have been reported.

Bloomfield Road will remain closed between Riverview Drive and the railway tracks while cleanup operations are underway. Residents and motorists are asked to follow posted signage and avoid the affected section of Bloomfield Road while crews continue their work.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation.

Emergency crews are currently responding to a fire at the ethanol plant located at 275 Bloomfield Road, Chatham.

For your safety, please avoid the area of Bloomfield Road and Riverview Drive and follow any road closures or directions provided by emergency personnel. Fire crews remain on scene and operations are ongoing.

There have been no reported injuries at this time.

Please stay clear of the area to allow emergency responders to work safely and effectively.
