Gallery Vision

My name is Shawn DeNeire and I am the owner of Galerie dàrt Riverside in Wakefield, Quebec. I have been self employed for most of my adult life with bar and grills, hotrod shops and now this gallery. Some people wonder why a guy with a background in hockey and motorcycles get into owning an art gallery. I have been an artist all my life, its been one of my passions.People`s lives change over time and it was my time to invest in my artwork fulltime. I had my work in galleries only to have my fees escalate with nothing to show for it, not even a solo show. I also searched right across Canada to find a gallery to exhibit my work only to hear...Iàm not famous, dead, or from the province. Oh they wanted my money to submit but didnt gaurentee me an exhibit.What they did gaurentee me was I wasnt getting my money back if they didnt take in my work. I decided the only one who will market my work the way it should be is me. So here we are. I have a level of standard that is present in the sign outside. That standard is present in all the artwork in the gallery including the cafe in the back and I wont deviate from that. The parklike backyard will be an outdoor exhibition area in the spring, summer and fall with a deck to enjoy the cafe offerings. Solo shows featuring the artists of the gallery will be a weekend event throughtout the summer, weather permitting. Galerie dàrt Riverside will be an art experience, not just a walkthrough gallery. I want Galerie dàrt Riverside a place to remember for years to come. I hope you will join us in the experience.
