The AUD is excited to welcome back Virden Theatre Productions! They’ll be moving in soon to continue rehearsals and prepare the stage for their upcoming production of Dear Evan Hansen.
A message from Artistic Director and Producer Michelle Chyzyk:
19 sleeps.
In just 19 sleeps, we open an absolute masterpiece of a show that we have poured our hearts into: the multiple Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen.
This marks the Manitoba premiere, and we are incredibly proud to be only the second amateur theatre group in Canada to have obtained the rights to produce it.
The talent of this cast will take your breath away.
Every year, we find ways to draw the magic out of the music, the script, the characters, and every tiny detail—but this musical is, without question, the most emotionally powerful production we have ever tackled.
Dear Evan Hansen changed the landscape of Broadway forever.
And our production is bringing some exciting new dimensions to our stage, including an incredible live orchestra and a massive video wall—something we have never attempted before.
The musical score is breathtaking. The storytelling is raw and deeply moving. And our eight exceptional vocalists bring these songs to life at a truly professional level.
This is more than a night at the theatre.
It is an experience that will stay with you.
Come with an older teen you care about. Bring a loved family member. Come with your closest friends. Come ready to laugh, cry, feel, and maybe have a few important conversations afterward.
Because you're probably going to want to give someone a hug when it's over. ❤️
There are six performances over two weekends, and we cannot wait to share this extraordinary production with you.
