As the year winds down, I’m getting projects finished. A friend entrusted me with shooshing up a tray her son made in high school many years ago.

I removed all of the white paint on the tray, used wood filler to fill all of the cracks, used acrylic caulking on all of the inseams of the tray to ensure there would be no leakage. After priming, I painted the whole tray a very light gray. Once dry, I did a pour on the tray. I was so thrilled that I was able to find a Rose Gold paint that would match the handles of the tray.

After I let the paint cure for a month, I applied a coat of food safe resin inside the tray, varnished the outside and reattached the handles.

I delivered the tray to her today and I think she really liked it!

** forgot to take a picture of the finished tray, but did have a picture of it dry with the handles laying on the edges. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Resin day with my bestie!

1 painting, 2 trays and 6 sets of coasters resined today.

After we were done and we were ready to leave the studio, she asks if she can take off her PPE. “Sure”. She was amazed at how toxic it was as she gasped for clean air outside the studio. 🤷🏼‍♀️

When I committed to doing two seasonal markets this Fall, I set about ordering wood blanks for coasters and sourcing trays to paint. I managed to get half the coasters and two trays completed for the October market.

November’s market is going to be stellar. It’s over two days and we’re anticipating record crowds. Fingers crossed.

Get ready to warm your taste buds with mouthwatering soups from around the world while helping Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore raise money for our programs that support women and girls in our community.

There are two components to this event:
**FREE curated "Very Early Christmas Market" of local crafters, artisans, bakers, and food purveyors, making this event as community-rich as it is flavourful. Open 10 am to 3 pm.

**TICKETED "Soups From Around the World" event. Grab a bowl, spoon, and your appetite. Whether you prefer a hearty bowl or a lighter option, we've got you covered! Each ticket includes unlimited soups from around the world, including a variety of dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options. Soups are prepared by professional chefs.

Two of Victoria's finest chefs - Thomas Yesdresyski from the Sooke Shelter Society and Sam Benedetto, chef at Royal Colwood Golf Club are preparing the food.
Open 11 am to 3 pm. Drop in.
