The Rising - Victoria Centre for Circus Arts The Westshore's first circus school and company! Aerial classes, acrobatics, shows, and more! The Rising is a circus school located in the vibrant Westshore.

It is owned and operated by Sarah Scheunhage, professional aerialist, acrobat, and circus teacher . We offer recreational to pre-professional aerial and ground-based discipline classes and workshops ages 18 months - adult. We also provide corporate and private aerial entertainment and host circus parties for any special event you'd like to celebrate ( birthdays, bachelorettes, etc). Our Facility:

2500 sq feet, plus 150 sq ft loft
25 foot ceilings
multiple aerial points
silk, hoop, static trapeze, hammock, lollipop lyra, rope, handbalance canes, slackline, padded flooring, mats and more! Circus Tent party room

You’ve got the skills. Let’s get comfortable building with them.

This workshop is for aerialists who want to learn the process of creating an act, from character & story building, choosing choreography and to the moment you step in front of an audience. Whether this is your first piece or your fifth, we’re working the muscle of building with intention.

Through theatre exercises and hands-on act-building, you’ll leave with an Act Creation Guide/Worksheet, two videos of yourself (before and after), and a clear next step for your current or next act.

All levels are welcome; come prepared with a climb/ascent, a pose, and a trick/move. No performing background is required, and prior acts are welcome too. This is a room for exploration, not perfection.

Last Wednesday we hosted our Intro to Aerial trial class for adults interested in giving aerial arts a try.
We learned foundational skills on the aerial hammock and hoop… and definitely got a good core workout in with all the belly laughs! 🤪😂

Join us for our $5 fly session before fall begins. Studios will be open between 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Arrive and stay as long as you like within this time window.
Be prepared to share your aerial point with up to three others as we want as many of our students to be able to take advantage of this deal.

Step right up! This 45-minute parent & child class is all about playful exploration in a circus-themed setting.

Enjoy open play on a coach-designed circus circuit, with a short group warm-up and wrap-up. Coaches provide safety supervision and will introduce a fun “Skill of the Day” each day (aerial and/or ground) for families to try together.

This is not a structured class—caregivers actively guide and support their child throughout the circuit.

Our Intro to Circus Trial class will teach foundational skills on aerial hammock and trapeze in a safe and supportive environment.
If we have time at the end we’ll throw in a little plate spinning as well for hand eye coordination and fine motor skill development.
For ages 6-11

If you catch the aerial bug after this, you would register for our Fall course - Adult Aerial ABC’s - to dive deeper into the foundations on 4 different aerial apparatus ( silk, hoop, hammock, and trapeze.)
