Car parking is limited, please do your best to walk, bike, or carpool. Public parking is also available underground at Esquimalt Town Square.

Esquimalt Urban Arts Tour featured Stop #22 - 459 Nelson St!

Artist Rose Cowles will be on-site with her vibrant, whimsical artwork, inspired by nature and imagination, alongside Susan Kruzel Artist and her paintings and photography that capture the beauty and spirit of the natural world.

You may already recognize Susan's work from our current exhibition at the Esquimalt Town Square, giving you two opportunities to experience her artwork this summer!

Meet Rose and Susan at their oceanside location on Saturday July 4 11am-4pm, and explore all that Tour Stop #22 has to offer.

Artist Statement
Thank you to Gallery Splash! for the opportunity to share my work and my love of art with the community at Esquimalt Town Square.
I’m inspired by the ever-changing sky - the shifting clouds, the brilliant colours, and the way light reflects and dances across the water. These moments make me stop, look again, and appreciate the beauty and calm they bring. That feeling is what inspires me to create. If my art makes you pause for a moment and feel something, then I feel I’ve succeeded.

Biography
Esquimalt, BC resident Susan Kruzel was born and raised in the previous Communist Regime of Hungary. Upon immigrating to Canada as a teenager, she worked in Theatre Costume Design at Sudbury Theatre Centre in Ontario before pursuing a career in the military for 28 years on land and sea. Susan is a graduate of Victoria College of Art (VCA) 2017 Victoria, BC, Canada. Her art includes a wide spectrum of subject matter and media. Mostly she enjoys oil as her painting medium. In her paintings she explores landscapes, nature, light studies, movement of water, sunrises and sunsets of Victoria, views of the surrounding vistas of mountains, and visits to various coastlines where she finds her inspirations. Her art has found homes with private collectors in Canada and in Europe. Susan has exhibited in solo and group shows over the years.

It is almost summer time, and the Township Community Arts Council is gearing up for our busy summer season. Watch for the full details soon on the Urban Arts Tour, Memorial Park Music Fest, and Esquimalt Lantern Festival.

The TCAC was established in 2014, and is embarking on our 13th season. We are actively seeking sponsors to help us produce the quality family-friendly arts and culture events in Esquimalt that we are known for.
