Playwrighting Workshops are starting soon!

Starting November 17th, SATCo will be hosting the second annual SATCo Play Workshopping Series! We are excited to be back, workshopping new plays, and talking about the writing craft! All workshops are open to undergraduate or graduate students in or out of the theatre department.
November 17th : Playwrighting 101 from 6-9pm led by Dani Snyders-Blok (Room TBD)
- Come practice writing techniques, review play formatting templates and learn about workshopping.
- This lecture is made for beginners, experienced writers and actors interested in text analysis. All are welcome!
November 24th: The Playwrighting Panel from 6-9pm.
- come talk to recent phoenix grads about their writing projects: podcast creation, dramaturgy, festivals and more. How do you publish, create self led projects and submit your plays after graduation?
- Guests TBD!
January 5th- March 30th: Play Workshops, Monday nights from 6-9pm
- come watch, read or workshop 1-2 plays every Monday night by UVic undergrads and grads. These workshops are open to the public.
- Workshops will include playwright led casting of their script, a staged reading, and approx 15-30min discussion of the work. All genres of plays, styles, themes and lengths are welcome. Scripts can be undeveloped or in a final draft. Submissions can be up to 2hrs in length.
- Submissions for readers and playwrights will open in late November.
March 30th: Writing Open Mic Night from 6-9pm
- come join us for the final night of the series and read your work at the open mic! Read any genre of writing, socialize, and say goodbye to the term!
