Join us Tuesday evenings in Centennial Square. Free workshop each week from 6:30-7:30 p.m., followed by general dancing and line dances until 9:00 p.m.!

Another successful VBDS Open House!

We had 45+ dancers joining us last Saturday for an afternoon of dancing. Thank you to VBDS instructor, Wanda Kivitt, for the fun merengue workshop! Thank you to the Classes Committee volunteers for organizing another fun and FREE event for the dance community, with special mention to Tabea S. for providing coffee and treats.

Would you like to learn to dance? Join Wanda for an Intro to Ballroom four-week workshop series starting Saturday, June 20th - 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Rec Centre.

Thank you to all of the dancers who came out to join us last weekend for our final dance of the season!

Thank you to Cheryl Paredes Mason (of Aloha Fit Hula & Fitness) for providing a fun workshop to start the evening off!

And a BIG thank you to the Dance Committee volunteers for their contributions to this dance and all of this season’s dances (see Dance Committee photo), with special mention to Susan S. and Bonnie P., who shared the role of Chair this past year, to Jacqueline S. for managing the refreshment table and to So S. for his third year as our DJ. Thank you as well to Michael K. for helping out the Dance Committee where needed over the past few months.

Not a lot of photos this time, everyone was too busy having fun!

Monthly dances will return in September.

Until then, join us in Centennial Square for another summer of outdoor dancing. Dancing in the Square 2026 starts Tuesday, July 14th. More information to come.

Night Club Waltz - Part 2 with John de Pfyffer!

This series is designed to build on the skills introduced in Part 1 and will help you feel even more confident in this social dance.

Part 2 is intended for dancers who completed Part 1 with VBDS in May/June 2026 or for those who have comparable experience in Night Club Waltz from previous workshops or classes.

No VBDS membership required.

Congratulations to all dancers who competed at Island Fantasy Ball in Nanaimo last weekend!

VBDS had ten couples competing, including five newcomer couples! Thank you to VBDS instructor, Victor Golubkov, for preparing your newcomer students.
