Pete Williams is a founding member of Natural Rhythm, with his musical partner, Thomas White. After meeting at a DJ gig they discovered a mutual love for deep, soulful house sounds that would shape their journey for decades to come.
Since their earliest studio sessions in 1996, Pete has helped define the unmistakable Natural Rhythm sound — deep, driving underground house grooves layered with soul and funk influences, analog synth textures, and swinging 4x4 rhythms.
Their debut vinyl release, The Jive EP, on Earthtones Recordings (later Seasons Recordings), became an underground staple, establishing Natural Rhythm as one of the most exciting names in underground house music. Known for lush filters, infectious grooves, layered samples, and timeless musicality, Natural Rhythm helped define an era of house music that continues to inspire DJs and producers around the world.
As both a DJ and producer, Pete Williams continues to represent the timeless spirit of underground house music through records designed for late nights, real connection, and movement on the dance floor.
The Downbeat is unbelievably excited to have Pete, a formative figure in the West Coast house sound, on this lineup in support of Joeski—formative on the East Coast. A perfect pairing we are lucky to see come to life in our space.
