We are looking for new ensemble members and guest performers. AV is interested in seeing people who practice:

🖤 Theatre
🖤 Improv
🖤 Performance Art
🖤 Dance
🖤 Puppetry
🖤 Poetry
🖤 Drag
🖤 Storytelling
🖤 Singing & Choral Work

Deadline to submit: August 3rd
Notification for in-person group auditions: August 5th

To submit email [email protected] with:

🖤 a video telling us who you are, your experience and what you do (phone video is fine!)
🖤 Performance CV (including references)
🖤 If possible - a short video of (or link to) an act/performance you’ve done recently (not required for stage management/tech/design)

Other things to include:

🖤 What days you can do for in person auditions if selected (Aug 9/10)
🖤 any special skills (building, good with a drill, can do costumes, etc.)

We will be holding in-person group auditions for selected applicants August 9 (afternoon) and August 10 (evening).

Must be available for rehearsals evenings and weekends from September 1
And shows October 20 - November 1

Registration is open for Summer Clown Schools in Chinatown, YYJ!

🤡 FUNDAMENTALS is a beginner-friendly 3-day intensive exploring presence, play and being seen without needing to perform. Participants are invited to slow down, listen and notice what happens before trying to be funny, clever or “good.”

✨ May 29-31
✨ Friday 6-10pm, Sat & Sun 2-6pm
✨ $250

🤡 DEEP DIVE is a 3-day intensive that supports performers in building and shaping material that stays responsive and alive. Previous clown or performance experience recommended.

✨ June 19-21
✨ Friday 6-10pm, Sat & Sun 2-6pm
✨ $250

All classes are taught by living legend Britt Small.

A clown showcase in its wildest form: bold, bizarre and gloriously unhinged.

Atomic Vaudeville’s Clown School unleashes a lineup of fresh performers with brand-new acts: still forming, still failing, still wobbling on their strange little legs.
