Theatre SKAM strives to maintain a solid reputation as a creator of award-winning, innovative, site-specific work and intimate, elegant theatre. As a creation-based company, all of our shows are new work developed through a proven iterative process. We seek to blur the line between artistic mediums and create work representing the best of the West Coast. We play a pivotal role in the cultural life

of our region and are recognized by peers across the country for our contribution to national networks and our commitment to developing new work. We serve communities of artists and attract audiences who crave remarkable experiences in unique environments. We provide opportunities for early-career artists to gain professional experience while nurturing creativity and providing a platform for advancing a diverse array of Victoria talent. Mandate:
Theatre SKAM creates innovative theatre and live events in Victoria and on tour. We support the professional careers of a wide range of artists, with a focus on Victoria-based artists and especially emerging artists. We strive to invigorate the communities we serve while centring our six core values in everything we do: Accessible, Curious, Equitable, Minimal Waste, Sustainable, Transparent. Mission:
To be an incubator for the creation of high-quality, provocative theatre that inspires and challenges audiences in Victoria and beyond.

Rebel Rhythm is a wordless theatrical work set in a world between life and death. A pulse-driven experience where music, movement, and identity collide, it unfolds through physical storytelling, mask, puppetry, and rhythm.

As the body moves, something deeper begins to surface.
Rebel Rhythm invites audiences into a journey of reflection—where confronting what lies within can reshape our connection to ourselves and the world around us.

Happy World Theatre Day 2027!
Happy World Theatre Day SKAMmers! We are honoured to get to produce and share theatre with you all year-round.

Some facts from our friends at regarding Canadian Theatre’s Impact:
• Canada’s theatres employ over 30,000 people; from artists, technicians, administrators and theatre workers;
• 10 million Canadians attend live theatre performances each year;
• Over 3,500 Canadian works are performed each year;
• Theatres turn every $1 invested by the Federal Government into $15.06 in economic impact.
