Belmont Senior Secondary is proud to present its very own Drama Department. This department is to showcase the talents of the Belmont students. Our mission is to help our students achieve the confidence they need to pursue their dreams and showcase their talents, while providing a safe and supporting environment to do so. During the school year, we offer courses that will introduce students to the lifestyle they may have to take on while pursuing their careers. For students who love to act, or would like to be introduced to acting, we offer classes for all levels of acting. Throughout the semester students learn acting skills, public speaking, and personal growth which is needed to pursue an acting career. This class prepares students for future acting opportunities, as well as providing a great base for the Belmont Senior Acting Company and Musical Theatre. We offer yearlong courses such as Belmont Senior Acting Company; a course directed to advanced actors who are passionate and committed. These actors perform skits and a full length play throughout the year. They focus on the importance of both film and stage acting and receive multiple workshops, as well as improving their skills of memorization. For students who enjoy singing, dancing, and acting, we also offer Musical Theatre; a yearlong course offered after school twice a week which is devoted to rehearsing for a full length musical. Throughout the year students learn choreography, practice vocal ranges and practice acting while keeping a professional environment and unbreakable spirit.
