PridePOC is just around the corner and with that we have an unfortunate update. After much consideration, due to unforeseen circumstances we have decided to cancel this year’s PridePOC. Refunds have been issued to ticket buyers.

We are disheartened by this decision, but are hoping to bring PridePOC back next year in full force. Safe spaces for q***r people of colour - where we can celebrate - are so important and at the heart of what we do. With that said, we hope to see folks out at other exciting events during Pride week. Regardless of our own event not going ahead this year, we still want to wish everyone a Happy Pride!

💥 Introducing DJ Nova Jade! 💥

Tera "Nova Jade* Greene (she/they) is a q***r DJ/singer-songwriter/producer and mentor who has been DJing since 2003. Originally from Los Angeles, she received the Pat Parker’s Artist Award for being the sole DJ with the pivotal 4-year Serafemme Women’s Music Festival in West Hollywood.

Nova* has opened for Grammy-nominated artists Kelis at Los Angeles (CSW) Pride, as well as DJ’d multiple pride festivals from Long Beach to Vancouver. She has also been the DJ for the inaugural PridePOC in Victoria, which features and highlights Indigenous, Black and Brown Q***r artists and performers in Victoria.

🌈 PridePOC is an event for members of the QTPOC (Q***r and Trans People of colour) community and is a night of music, dancing, and performances galore. Come join us for an evening of connection and celebration made for QTPOC by QTPOC.

Please note that the priority for this event is the QTPOC community. Allies are welcome to attend if accompanying a QTPOC attendee, limited ally tickets available.

This is event will be a dry event until 9:00pm, when alcohol sales will open. Snacks, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic beverages available.

Performances will happen on stage at 8:00pm and 10:00pm

💥 April 14: Stage Presence - A Lesson in Confidence w/ Hazel Nuez! 💥

Does the idea of being alone on stage
terrify you? Do you get onstage and your
eyes instantly lock onto the floor? Afraid of
audience interaction? In this workshop we
will go over fundamental tools you can use
to gain confidence not only on stage but in your everyday life. You will be able to practice these tools at home, in class or with a friend. In the class we will do cross floors, confidence and expression exercises. The workshop will begin with a talk, light stretch, exercises and debrief.

This workshop is not dance or choreography based, but there will be lots of movement. Beginner/ intermediate friendly.

What to bring: water, clothes you can move and stretch in. Shoes or socks. Pen and paper

Looking to take your burlesque acts to the next level
with community feedback? Victoria Peer Reviews are
an opportunity to assist with the development of both
old and new burlesque routines! Hosted by Cherry
Cheeks, this is an event for community and performer
growth.

Join us with a routine that you want to build upon and receive constructive feedback from your peers to help take it to the next level. This is a safe space for your creativity and growth while sharing honest questions about your choices and insights.

Don't have something to workshop but want to be involved? Come on by with your feedback! Limited spots are available for individuals to watch and provide feedback.

Peer Reviews are available by a recommended $15.00 donation to help cover studio costs. We want burlesque education & growth to be accessible for everyone & not limited by finances, so no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

💥 March 3: Sensual Movement with Hazel Nuez! 💥

Are you ready to get down and grind?
Ready to show off your assets? In this
fun and upbeat class we will learn spicy,
seductive and sensual choreography.
Choreography will pull from burlesque,
heels, and sass dance genres. We will also break down fundamental sensual dance movements such as; hip rolls, chest isolations and body rolls. This class is movement based.

Beginner to no dance experience required. We will begin with a warm up, fundamental dance isolations, choreography and cool down.

What to bring: water, dance wear, heels or jazz shoes
