Lately, he’s been really interested in instrument heavy tracks, more irl and less digital, not too fast 128 and lower, cymbals, bells, drums, sirens; percussion, driving but not overly heavy, lyrics to find melody and practise the throat instrument. He’s currently digging deep to find instrumental tracks that give the euphoric 80s/90’s soulful house emotion.

We’re at the midpoint for our lighting overhaul!
Today, all the lights got put up and the chords got set.
Keeping it all hanging down to test is super smart so you don’t accidently install a bad light or DMX cable and have to undo/redo a lot of work.
Now that everything is confirmed to be working, we’ll organize it on the ceiling.
The lighting universe is working as it should.
Just need to organize the groups and finalize the cues and shows to make the room 🌬️ breath 🌬️

As the lighting at RUSH gets a full overhaul, it was planned to happen next week.
But we got ahead of ourselves and took everything down with a party in two days.
So, gotta finish it now!
Likely not a finished set up but phase 1 of testing.
Always messing with, adapting and experimenting!
Building the plane in the way down, see you Saturday

Building a nightclub that breathes around you!
Instal has begun for a whole new lighting se up at RUSH.
Some context of what we’re thinking about when designing.
It’s a convo that’s been ongoing for a decade.
Keep thinking, keep doing!

Self expression is highly encouraged and the weirder and freakier the better.
Unleash your feral freak.

Josh started RUSH about a year ago after organizing Club Loading for a few years.
He’s 6 years into throwing parties, 2 decades into loving music but new to DJing.
Appreciating music and organizing in the background had been the lanes he walked.
Only recently did he feel comfortable to share music and be in a brighter limelight.
Its a high and a pressure thats beautiful, he’s discovered.
ED BANGER / PEDRO WINTER was his intro to electronic music in 2010.
Since this, many parts of the map have been unlocked of electronic music appreciation.
Lately, he’s been really interested in instrument heavy tracks, more irl and less digital, not too fast 128 and lower, cymbals, bells, drums, sirens; percussion, driving but not overly heavy, lyrics to find melody and practise the throat instrument. He’s digging deep to find instrumental only tracks that give the euphoric 80s/90’s soulful house emotion.

DIY is the mantra. Explore too! Found out sand boxes for turntable dampening does not work with my set up. Sometimes things don’t work. Only one way to find out!

This Saturday! Back by popular demand, from San Fransisco, we welcome Garth for another all night takeover!
RUSH with Algorythm & the Night Mayor present international DJ, Garth for a vinyl marathon of disco and deep house Saturday Sept. 26, 2026.
Bringing the essence of UK sound system culture to San Francisco since 1991, DJ Garth has earned his place in the hearts of house music lovers worldwide.
Recognized by Time Out New York as one of the top 10 best house DJs of all time alongside the likes of Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy.
Garth remains dedicated to his craft, spinning only vinyl records to deliver an authentic and mesmerizing sound.
His sets are a journey through the roots of house music and beyond that will keep you dancing all night long.
We are exited for a masterclass in journey making and music evolution in dance floor history.
