What makes a dance floor feel alive for you?

We’ve always asked that long conversations be kept off the dance floor.
It’s part of our ethos of intention setting vs rule setting.
No one wants to be told what to do especially when you’re just trynna get out to dance or hang.
We. Get. It.

But RUSH isn’t a free for all space.
It’s deliberately orchestrated to create a very specific ✨feeling free✨ kind of night.
This does not mean we’re asking you to not speak, laugh or connect with somebody.
That’d be insane AND we literally want the opposite of this.
RUSH is exactly the place to commune with others.

It just means recognizing that the DF has a specific purpose.
It sucks when two people or a group stop dancing and begin a long form yap session in the middle of the floor.
We’ve got three purpose built lounges to catch up, flirt, tell stories and yell into your friend’s ear: whatevaa.

The dance floor, low and behold, is for dancing.
Like really really, really, just dancing.
There is no other feeling to dancing with your eyes closed, undisturbed, letting go, doing whatever is your dance moves and having the music move you.

He cut his teeth at Shelter, landed a residency in 88’ at Smart Bar with Mark Farina and developed is “non-one lane” house style.
This part of music history lands in the second wave of Chicago DJ’s, after The Warehouse closed down.
His sound navigates, soulful, tech, disco, pure funk, acid jacks with percussives all night long.

His reputation as a producer has landed him work with labels such as Sony, Jive, Epic, Warner Bros, and indies such as Defected, Om Records, and Trax.
His vast catalog includes work with artists such as Kaskade, KD
Lang, Rihanna, Meshell Indegeocello, Bob Sinclair, and Gloria Estefan.

Local support to warm up the room is provided by Michael McCaffery & Yoseff Samchuk.
Both have held down and supported the growth of our local scene since the 90s with their love of underground, deep and minimal house.

Who’s got the sauna dance party lore?

Nighttime is our thing, we love it, we do it, it’s RUSH.
However, daytime gathering is a different kind of fun and a whole nother world that we realllyyy love.

It’s a more intentional type of connection.
Anonymity is gone.
This can be scary, it can also be incredibly liberating.

You should all come and dance, sauna and hang in a hidden pocket of Victotia that we love, Ærth Saunas.
