As part of the Matriarchs Uprising festival, Dance Victoria presents "Zaagi’idiwin: Our Mothering Heart", a triple-bill of performances by Indigenous women choreographers.

The program includes "Rematriate" by Olivia C. Davies. To rematriate is to return to the source. In response to the systems that hold society hostage to continual technological advancement and an ever-growing disconnection from reality, this solo seeks to articulate potential pathways to peace and presence grounded in Contemporary Indigenous feminism.

🧡 Staff Pick 🧡

We asked our team members which dance company they’re most looking forward to next season. Here’s what Kiera Shaw, DV Artist Programs & Studio Manager, is excited for:

"Having the Martha Graham Dance Company here will be a rare and special weekend in Victoria! The evening is a wonderful blend of classic Graham pieces that range from works that encapsulate grief to her most joyous works. I’m excited to get to see these historic pieces live on stage alongside along side new works by Baye & Asa and Hofesh Shechter."
