Dance, Children, Parents...
It's common knowledge that dance classes for children and adults are among the most
health-promoting activities. Ballroom dancing has a very positive impact on the physical and mental health of people of any age. In recent years, a new field has even emerged – Dance Therapy. 💃🏻
👨👩👧👦 Based on my many years of experience, I want to share my perspective on the role of parents in fostering a child's lasting interest in ballroom dancing. For more ambitious families, this could be Dance Sport, 🏆🏅which involves regular training and participation in competitions. Parental example plays a huge role in introducing children to sports, competitions, and performing activities.
Analyzing accumulated experience,
professional trainers at TORONTO BALLROOM ACADEMY created the "MOM, DAD, ME - A DANCE FAMILY" program, 👨👩👧👦, which has proven to be very popular. According to our clients, it helps harmonize relationships between children and parents in the family, and, of course, improves health and the psychological climate within the family. 👨👩👧👦
Parents report that over time, these classes increase their interest and competence in Dance Sport, which is especially pleasing to us. Such families have the opportunity to participate in competitions in the "Father - Daughter, Mother - Son" category. 🎉👨👩👧👦
🧍🕺💃🏻And many practice simply for fun, which also strengthens mutual understanding and creative collaboration between all members of the dance family.
The atmosphere of the lesson continues even in the car on the way home. Discussions ensue about who did what easily and who needed a little more practice, but the trainer's support, clarification of details, and additional focus on the lesson material quickly smooth out any difficulties that arise. 😇 After all, everyone learns differently, and thanks to their experience and knowledge of developmental psychology, a professional teacher-trainer finds the appropriate method of explanation and demonstration.
Our work is full of nuances, aspects, and the combination of knowledge from different areas and spheres of life. It's similar to the work of a sculptor who sculpts their creation with full dedication. Immersing myself in creativity and the process...
And here's the result from Dad: "My job requires me to be at the airport a lot. Since I started dancing, I've noticed how easily I move through a crowd, avoiding contact with other people and not being pushed around, which used to happen quite often."
And a happy mother frankly admitted: "I'm so glad that my week begins and ends with dancing. It seems like after work, my whole body is so tired. The lesson passed like a 'wonderful moment,' and it's as if I've grown wings, my gait has become lighter, my back has straightened, my waist has shrunk, and in my soul, such satisfaction and a smile shines on my face." 😍💃🏻
And how much pride children feel when it's ingrained in their minds that their parents share in their activities. It means it's important. Their self-esteem rises unnoticeably, because they are equal participants in the process (I won't hide that learning is often easier for children), and here, parents' self-control is trained. This is A mutually engaging process. 👨👩👧👦👯♂️👩❤️💋👩👨👩👧
And many other positive side effects from dance classes for the whole family. Your motivation is the best reward for your investment in your family's health, well-being, and happiness.
