BC Because We Be Cousins!

I was the “tour guide” for my cousin and her family, all visiting from BC! They got several meals through the use of two Premium All-Day Dining Plans. Definitely recommend using that if you’re only there for one day! 😁

I also got to try a something new at the park, which just opened this week! …the KidZville Refresh Centre, not Minebuster. But I did get to see Minebuster sending test cycles which was exciting in and of itself! Scroll to the end to see a short video I got of it on my old phone.

Read about all the rides we did, food we ate, plus some first reactions in my latest blog, linked in bio!

Prepare Yourself - Victoria Day Fireworks Night

It was an explosion of colour at Canada’s Wonderland this past Sunday, with fireworks, a new “colour game,” and a bold blue paint job for an ICEE stall!

Sweet Spot also opened with barely any colour at all… just what everyone wants from a candy shop, right? 😐 At least the layout is greatly improved from that of Sweet Shoppe.

On the hill between Lazy Bear Lodge’s stone steps and lower patio, there’s a new path some employees have affectionately nicknamed The Heather Hill! But that’s not the only tribute to the park’s now-former VP & General Manager: A plaque has appeared on AlpenFury’s station building acknowledging Heather’s start at Zumba Flume and years of building leaders!

Read my latest blog (linked in bio) for my full thoughts on these updates and more!

2026 Takes Flight!

My Opening Day trip report is now available, featuring 50 photos of food, rides, and updates from every area of the main park! It’s probably the most thorough rundown you’ll see in one place, so be sure to read it through the link in my bio!

Highlights include major progress on the new KidZville Refresh Centre, “paint and polish” around the park, and oh yeah, chatting with the new Park President about The DareDeviler! 😃

No video report this week due (in part) to some jaw pain.

Sweet & Spicy Season Preview! Are You Ready?

My video from the 2026 Media & VIP Day at is now available on YouTube (linked in bio), featuring a look at Flight Deck’s transformation into The DareDeviler, a brief overview of new food we got to sample, an update on Speed City Raceway, and progress on other projects around the park!

Wonderland officially opens to everyone tomorrow (May 3) and I’m genuinely very excited for how many new things are coming in 2026! Huge thanks to the park for inviting me to this preview day, and letting me bring three guests; we all had a great time!

For the thumbnail image, I chose to feature Pig Pen eating a donair kabob while holding a chicken drumstick in front of The DareDeviler.

Free Food and Family Fun! The park’s 2026 Media & VIP Day was a great preview of the season ahead!

invited me and three guests to the park this past Sunday so we could try the new food and beverage options, plus enjoy a full day at the park! You can read a thorough review of everything my group and I ate (plus a walkthrough of our day and some updates I saw around the park) in my latest blog! (Link in bio.)

Huge thanks to everyone at the park who put this event together, and of course for inviting me. I’m so excited for this summer at Canada’s Wonderland! 😁

Who needs a map?

In my latest blog, I detail all the changes I can see with the 2026 park map! Link in bio, but here are the highlights—

What’s New?
- The DareDeviler
- KidZville drink station
- List items (Victoria Falls High Dive, Goldrush Desserts, etc.)

What’s Missing?
- Speed City Raceway
- Chicken Shack
- Chaperone policy

What’s Different?
- Dining & Snack Plan icons
- App prompt

I also point out some errors, both subjective and objective… 🫣
- Moosehorn Falls no longer has a connecting path
- Two ride names left off the map itself
- Tiny Tom Donuts misspelled
- No floral flag

Even if paper maps (available at Guest Services) have already been printed with these errors, hopefully can update the web version. I say this with the utmost respect for the difficult task of creating and updating maps for every park across the chain.

The park map and all associated copyrights therein belong to the respective owners. Screenshots are provided for the purposes of review and commentary.

Did you know the term “midway” came from a World Expo?

This final part in my World Expo Exposé series details some of the major milestones of amusement park developments from past world expos. Spoiler: The Eiffel Tower, the Ferris Wheel, Disney’s “it’s a small world,” and La Ronde all have their origins in world expos!

Read “Midway Origins” linked in bio.

Way back in 2021, Canada’s Wonderland featured two pieces I wrote about the inspiration and history behind The Grande World Exposition of 1890. But originally there was another part to this series. It had less of a direct connection to Wonderland’s World Expo themed area, so we agreed it didn’t make sense to post it on the park’s official blog.

But now I’ve got my own blog where I can feature stuff from all the internet rabbit holes I’ve gone down! 😜

Flight Deck being reborn as The DareDeviler is just the tip of the wing for this year’s new offerings at !

The DareDeviler is a “bold reimagining inspired by the daring spirit of early aviation and the rich storytelling of the Grande World Expo.” On The DareDeviler, riders can expect a smoother, more comfortable ride thanks to targeted track refinements and new trains with open vest-style restraints. First opened in 1995 as Top Gun, these significant improvements should ensure the ride’s thrills continue for a whole new generation of daredevils!

Guests can also look forward to the exciting return of Brew & BBQ, an apparent rebranding of Camp Spooky to Tricks & Treats, three new live shows, plus some sweet food and beverage updates!

There’s also a new chaperone policy starting daily at 4 p.m. Full media release now available at wonderlandweekly.ca, linked in bio.

As we approach the start of the 2026 season, what can improve on for this year (without breaking the bank)? In my latest piece, I quickly go over my 26 Hopes for 2026! (Link in bio.)

This doesn’t include Camp Spooky, Halloween Haunt, nor WinterFest and I still had more things I wanted to mention (like speeding up the “drawbridge” at AlpenFury). Stay tuned because I’m sure to delve deeper into these points and more for future pieces.

What’s your biggest hope for this year at Canada’s Wonderland?
