“My Shadow ll” Oil on canvas and framed in barn wood made by my papa.

“My Shadow ll” stems from my personal experience and my life. The shadow represents the indigenous heritage people close to me know I have and the rabbit signifies myself as white. This is relevant and true to this day and age where many people have Indigenous ancestors.

“Omineca River Travellers” 24x18 inches, Acrylic on Canvas

These wolves I seen while my friends, my husband and I were boating up the Omineca River in Germansen area where my husband’s mom grew up. As well has the significance of the land and connection to it. These wolves represent my father’s Indian name “Black Wolf” “Gibuu” in the Gitxsan language. This painting has a full circle connection between my family and my husbands.

“Better Look” 10x20 inches, Acrylic on Canvas

The story behind this piece is last summer I was riding my horse with my dog and we saw these two bears. I thought they were grizzlies because of how big one of the bears were. As I got closer, they turned out to a huge boar and a small sow bear together. We ended up being up wind to them and the big boar smelt us and ran then turned around and stood up to get a “Better Look” at us. You will notice in the tree line of the painting there are 3 hand prints. The smallest one signifying my child as I was pregnant that summer and the other two representing my husband and I, as a reflection of the pair of bears as well.
