Happy International Dance Day! Today is the day! A work-in-progress will be shared this afternoon at the Salon Series at Whatlab.

Immense gratitude to Co.Erasga for the opportunity, care, and support in making this work possible.

This work is the final work in a triptych I’ve been developing over the last five years exploring identity, memory, and belonging. Inspired by the Chinese character 基 (ji), meaning foundation, the work asks how architectural forms hold the spiritual, cultural, and heart knowledge we carry within us.

My collaborative team has truly been a dream to work with, bringing fluidity, generosity, and imagination to what at times felt like a daunting subject. Deep gratitude, love, and respect to all of them.

“The Art of Theft”, based on the idea of an art heist, created by 3 artists, 3 volunteers, and 17 kids between the age of 6-12 in just one week. This was such a feat: with beautiful art, choreography, songs and amazing characters that became a multi-faceted story that’s funny, twisty, witty, and poignant. Feeling such fullness from all this.

Nearing the end of my residency at . It’s been 2 weeks of transformative process for me. What a luxury to just focus on creation and exploration. Immense gratitude to my collaborators , , and Sarah Chase for guiding me in this solo work. I’ll be bringing this work back to Vancouver to partner with and .sardine. “Girl Under” will be shown as work-in-progress at Canton Sardine Art Gallery on May 10.
