The Opera West Society in collaboration with UBC Opera presents Franz Lehár’s Die lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow).

Performances on May 14 and 16, 2027 at the Old Auditorium.

The Opera West Society will be joined by Conductor, Jacques Lacombe, Director, Nancy Hermiston and members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.

If you are interested in auditioning to be part of Die lustige Witwe, audition dates will be announced soon.

The performance will take place on February 27, 2027 at the Old Auditorium.

Opera West will be joined by Tenor, Rafał Bartmiński, Conductor, David Agler, Director, Nancy Hermiston and members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.

The Opera West Society opens their 2026/2027 Season with Singer Behind the Song featuring Jessica Muirhead on October 4 at 2pm at the Old Auditorium. This event includes a Recital, Interview and Masterclass with Jessica.

Jessica Muirhead is a British-Canadian soprano who has performed at leading opera houses throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Recent engagements include Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Royal Danish Opera, the title role in Arabella with Ópera de Oviedo, Lucrezia Borgia at the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites at Saarländisches Staatstheater.

Giacomo Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi will begin 2027 for UBC Opera!

In collaboration with the Opera West Society, performances will take place on February 4, 5, 6 at 7:30pm and February 7, 2027 at 2:00pm at the Old Auditorium.

We will be joined by Conductor, Jonathan Girard and members of the UBC Symphony Orchestra.
