Meet our genius lighting designer -- Phil Miguel!

Phil spends an uncomfortable amount of time in dark theatres trying to find ways of making the experience more palatable. When he’s allowed out into public, he can be found doing lighting or set design. Production design credits include A Good Way Out (Pacific Theatre) and Saltwater Moon (Plan Z). Lighting includes Cherry Docs (Cave Canem), The Lonesome West (Cave Canem), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Stone’s Throw), and Gruesome Playground Injuries (Pacific Theatre). His most recent design was for Nod in the Tremors Festival 2025.

Here's what he said when we asked what Shakespeare character he's most like to play and why: "Lear has been my favourite Shakespeare play for a long time. I've always loved his arc and his discoveries of the true nature of his relationships with his daughters."
