Metro Theatre is looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our team as we head into our seventh decade of live theatre in Vancouver.

We’re looking for someone with extensive experience in the theatre industry and team leadership, strong financial and organizational skills, and a genuine love for bringing live theatre to life. The ideal candidate is collaborative, creative, detail-oriented, and ready to take on the opportunities and challenges that come with leading a busy, community-focused theatre.

As General Manager, you’ll oversee Metro’s staff, operations, facilities, budgeting and scheduling while working closely with our Board of Directors to support the theatre’s vision and future growth.

If you’re a problem solver, a strong leader, and someone who knows what it takes to create exceptional experiences both on and off stage, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re kicking off a brand-new season and looking for volunteers to help make the magic happen!

Come by our Volunteer Fair on Saturday, September 12 from 11 AM–1 PM to learn more about getting involved.

We’re currently looking for:

Door — Welcome patrons, scan tickets and provide assistance when needed.

Usher — Assist patrons in locating their seats, distribute booster seats, assist the FOH Manager when needed and hand out show flyers/programs when required.

Bartender — Serving It Right certification required. Manage the Lobby Bar, pour and serve b**r and w**e, and handle cash and computer payments. May occasionally manage the concession area with or without a concession volunteer.

Concession — Work alongside the Lobby Bartender selling concession items including beverages, candy, chips and ice cream. Handle cash and computer payments.

50/50 Ticket Sales — Sell 50/50 tickets to patrons in support of Metro Theatre’s fundraising efforts and use an electronic machine to collect payments.

Box Office — Use Spektrix to assist with basic ticket transactions, including same-day ticket sales, exchanges and Will Call.

Why volunteer at Metro? See shows for free, meet new people, earn accredited volunteer hours and give back to Vancouver’s theatre community.

Join our team!

Metro Theatre is looking for an experienced and dependable Building Custodian to help keep our historic theatre clean, safe, welcoming, and running smoothly.

If you take pride in maintaining public spaces, enjoy hands-on work, and are looking to be part of a collaborative theatre community, we'd love to hear from you.

Schedule: 35 hours/week (Wednesday–Sunday, September–June)
Pay: $22.00–$26.00/hour (depending on experience)
