Have a 7–11-year-old who wants to learn piano? They can play their first song on Day One—and that’s only the beginning. 🎹✨

At Happy Keys, older beginners don’t spend months waiting to feel like real piano students. They begin making music immediately—surrounded by other children who want to learn and teachers who genuinely care about their wellbeing, confidence and progress.

Our Elementary Program is not simply a private method book taught to a group. It is a complete learning experience designed to help children become capable, independent musicians.

Students experience:

🎹 Songs from their very first class
🎵 Music based on their own interests
📖 Note-reading, rhythm and theory
👀 Sight-reading and independent discovery
🃏 Flashcard testing and measurable progress
🎶 Ensemble playing with other motivated students
🏡 The skills to practise confidently at home
💜 Teachers who know, encourage and care about them

They can also:

🌟 Perform at Happy Keys recitals
🏆 Participate in music festivals
📜 Prepare for RCM examinations
🎤 Share music through special performances and events

Parents are valued partners, but they are not required to participate in every class. We teach students to take increasing ownership of their learning.

By Level 6, students may have explored more than 300 songs and developed skills approaching RCM Grades 1–2—with the confidence to sight-read, practise independently and truly enjoy playing piano.

Because a great beginner program shouldn’t just teach children a few songs. It should help them see themselves as musicians.

Is your child ready for piano? 🎹✨ They don’t need any experience—just curiosity!

Our ongoing Young Beginners Program gives children ages 4.5–7 a joyful, confidence-building introduction to piano in a small-group setting designed especially for young learners. 💜

Through games, movement, singing and hands-on piano activities, children begin developing:

🎵 Musical foundations
🎹 Early piano skills
👂 Listening and rhythm
🌟 Confidence and independence
🤍 A genuine love of learning music

Our next 12-week Fall Term begins September 27, and we’ve added new classes to welcome more young musicians!

⭐ New Saturday & Sunday classes: 11:10–11:40 AM
⭐ New Wednesday class: 3:45–4:15 PM
⭐ New Thursday class: 3:45–4:15 PM

Plus additional Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday options!

Congratulations to Ayva for completing Book 2! At the beginning of this year, Ayva was still in our YB program. A lot of piano playing, focus, and determination has happened since 6 months ago. We are super proud of Ayva and she continues to amaze us with her willingness to keep going. She even gained the confidence to perform in class during this time and secured her first crown! 👑✨️💖 Trust the process and put in the work! Thankful to her parents for also encouraging her to continue with daily practice at home. She's on our accelerated path now.

🔥 They had ONE day to learn “How It’s Done”… and then performed it together! 🎹✨

For our final KPop Demon Hunters piano ensemble, the campers took on “How It’s Done” by HUNTR/X—learning their parts, following the beat, and bringing the energy as a team! ❤️‍🔥

In only four days, they:

🎹 Jammed together in piano ensembles
🎶 Learned multiple K-pop Demon Hunter songs
🎼 Discovered chords, melody, lyrics, and how to perform!
⭐ Played parts matched to their individual levels
🚀 Some beginners completed up to 20 songs from our Elementary Beginner's Progeam
💃 Danced, sang, performed, and acted out scripts with Baby Totoro, Cinnamonroll, and Baby Yoda and...made new friends! 💖

They arrived as individual campers—and finished as a band. 🥹💛

This is what happens when beginner musicians are given the chance to create, collaborate, and perform with confidence.

He started piano at 6. Now, at 16, Ethan is completing RCM Grade 10. 🎹✨

This is what ten years of musical growth looks like—not just playing the notes, but learning how to communicate emotion, shape every phrase, and bring the music to life.
