We can’t stress this enough… What’s more important than the foot steps, the arm positions and the timing… is the EYE CONTACT! 👀

These two dance in their own precious bubble, focussing only on each other. 🥰 Everyone in the whole room gets pulled into their eyes and can feel the couple’s connection. ❤️

If you’re focussed on choreography, there’s no way you can be present and in the moment with each other like these two. Keep your dance simple and natural and maintain that eye contact. 😍 That’ll go way further than any fancy footwork will.

Another simple PRO TIP for your wedding dance: When you are in that dip, going in for the kiss, do a LONG PRESS rather than a tap! 💋

We see so many coupes just give a quick peck on the cheek and then release. Unless the photographer just happens to be ready at that exact moment, they’re gonna miss the kiss! 😬

Make sure that you do a long press, in other words, hold the kiss for a few seconds, to ensure that someone will capture that photo-worthy moment. 😘

Sometimes we walk forwards, backwards or sideways. Sometimes we walk on the spot or around in a circle. ⭕️ Sometimes we walk straight through past our partner, under their arm, and sometimes we’ll stop walking altogether and have a nice quiet pause. ⏸️

There’s something so satisfying about timing the dip right at the end of the song! 🎵🎶☺️

Here’s how we teach our couples to do it:

1️⃣ Know the song so that you can anticipate the ending.

2️⃣ Practice the final move in it’s entirety and figure out approximately how long it takes you to do it (as it’s different for everyone).

3️⃣ Figure out a song lyric for a cue as to when to start the final move.

4️⃣ Give yourself some leeway so that you don’t have to panic or rush on the day. Keep in mind that one of you may be in heels and a dress, so slower is safer.

5️⃣ Practice it so that you can hit the dip at the time that you want to. If you can do it 5/5 times at home, then you can probably do it on the day of, even with the nervousness of people watching you, and the outfits that you haven’t rehearsed in.
