leadership skills, and so the value placed on leadership has increased. At one time, great test scores guaranteed university admission and career opportunities, but now the best universities and employers are looking for more. It is not enough to be hard-working. It is not enough to get high marks. To achieve the highest levels of success, one must be a leader – a confident communicator who is able to work collaboratively with others when called upon and provide the focus necessary to complete the assignment.
