NEWS!

Chicknskratch Productions is now Art Left Creative

Our operations have grown significantly over the last few years, and we decided it was finally time to make a change. We have merged with Art Left Creative, a team we have been working alongside for almost two years already. It's been about 7 since I first started working under the Chicknskratch alias, and in that time I have had the honour of working with nearly every theatre company in Vancouver, helping to tell their stories, and share their art. It's been a serendipitous blending of my artistic worlds, Theatre and Film.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us, followed us, hired us, or worked alongside us. We hope you will join us over at Art Left Creative, where we aim to take our digital content creation to the next level.

Our last project from 2018, SEDNA but Urban Ink, at the Caravan Farm Theatre and perhaps the last project ever for Chicknskratch Productions! (more news on what is happening there in 2019).

This show is as magical as the place itself, our first time to the Caravan Farm, and if it wasn't sold out with a 1000 person waitlist, and closing tonight, I'd tell you to go up there and see it.

It comes to Vancouver next year, and it is our hope the Caravan Farm Theatre will be around for years to come.

Check out the 2018/2019 Season Trailer we created for Studio 58, Langara College, we're pretty darn happy with it!

A lot of people came together to make this thing happen.
Thanks to Emily Cooper Photography for letting us shoot along side her at Crane Studio, as well as for her gorgeous photos that we animated, Markian Tarasiuk for the fonts and typography, Stephanie Wong for dressing all our actors, who, combined with the makeup artistry of Sarah Buckley, made sure everyone looked👌🏻, James Coomber for the score, and of course Sherri Sadler for masterminding the whole thing.

Big shout out to our fabulous actors too:
Jarred Stephen, Taylor Long, Jessie Liang, Kelsey Wavey, Dan Swain, Hannah Pearson, Moe Golkar, Daniel Bristol, Katie Voravong, David Underhill, Jimmy Shinshaku Hong, Ashley Chartrand, Angela Chu, and Lauren Preissl who stuck it out and did TWO of the spots!

All of the aforementioned actors are current students at Studio 58 so you can support them by heading out to these promising shows.

Happy Opening Weekend to Blackbird by David Harrower At Backspace Vancouver!

We had the fortune of seeing this on opening night and thought it was an extremely strong piece. David Bloom directs Rodney DeCroo and Panthea Vatandoost in this emotionally complex two-hander that is as gut-wrenching as it is unpredictable. Big Ups to designer, Stephanie Wong, who made the place look horribly wonderful as well as Emily Doreen and Samantha Sue Pawliuk for keeping it all running smoothly.

Last weekend to catch Carousel Theatre for Young People's of The Velveteen Rabbit. This was one of my favourite growing up which perhaps influenced both my desire to make come to life, and a lifetime of hoarding inanimate objects.

They've done a wonderful job bringing the book to life on stage, so bring your little ones, and bring some tissue!

If you love this , take your little ones out to see Tim Carlson, Adele Noronha, Chris Lam, Kaitlyn Yott, Nick Fontaine, Masae Day, Kayla Dunbar, Tai Amy Grauman, Ian Butcher, and Sereana Malani in this classic tale.
