Special thank you to for having me come out and help them with some branding photography for their data strategy and optimization consulting firm.

The emphasis here was to bring a personal touch to their business and highlight one portion of the team.

If you’re in need of help with your data as a start up or solidified business, I recommend checking them out.

This was a spot I drove by more times than I could count - so, when I finally got the opportunity to take a picture during a photo walk, I couldn’t say no.

The train was the perfect touch and was worth the wait for it to come around.

I played around with the settings but was aiming for something more “still” rather than motion focused. This was the end result.

I lucked out with this fellow that was walking on by through the alleyway when I was taking some time to just capture some photos for myself to play around with.

The reds were beautiful. They reminded me of many nights walking home from late night shifts over in Gastown years ago.

I always found it interesting how certain photos could take you back to different points in your life - the best part of that realization is the flashbacks are different for every viewer of that photograph.

What I see doesn’t always translate to what you see. I guess personal perspective in art is everything.

The dark hours of the day never seemed to hinder my creative impulses - in a lot of ways, it just reinforced them.

There’s an argument for shooting during the day which would have a similar effect, but the limitation on light in the evening really makes you step outside of the box.

Another dark and comic book themed photograph. This one particularly a mix of Spider-Man and Batman themed comics I grew up reading and flipping through.

Very simple but it hit the right spots for me aesthetically.

Night or day, it’s all art.

At first, I thought this photo was going to be a take on Ant-Man trying to drive a motorcycle… but, it’s not. This shot was all about framing.

When it came to grading and adjusting the colors, I wanted to replicate my mood as well. Pre-adventure was the inspiration.

Where to? I haven’t quite put my finger on that yet - even if I did, I probably wouldn’t be telling anyone.

I might have a few more street photos worth sharing up my sleeve but, we’ll see. I might switch things up after the next two posts.

Last of the set of photos. These were geared more towards action as you can see. I definitely wanted to save these for sharing to close out the grid here.

Still in amazement from the skill and grit these athletes brought forward. Hats off and a round of applause to all of you.

I had the chance to shoot for recently at their very first event and it was an absolute pleasure. This event was incredible. The athletes came in and brought their best and it showed.

I haven’t had this much fun at a live event in a long time. If you’re at all a fan of martial arts, you should definitely check out their next event.

For these photos, I caught some out of action sequences and scenes that really stood out to me. I loved how they told a bit of a story. There’s lots of action shots I’ll be sharing in the future but I thought these should be enjoyed first.

The downfall of modern day artists, the dollar and all it “promises”.

When it comes to artwork and creation, I knew from a young age that it had to come from a special place, with unparalleled passion and definitive purpose.

The one wish I have is that all artists remember this. Art is an outlet and that outlet doesn’t have to be negative, it just has to be true.

This was my mindset with this photograph.

Not the Gotham most people know, but the Gotham, away from Gotham. Vancouver, is where this is and the steaks at that restaurant happen to be unbelievably good.
