🎨 Corridor of Time
Oil on Canvas Panel, 14″x11″

Some paths seem to lead somewhere beyond the landscape itself.

As I painted this tree-lined road, I became fascinated by the way the branches curved inward toward the distant light.

The brushwork follows that movement, drawing the eye deeper into the scene, while the angled strokes across the path echo the sunlight filtering through the canopy.

I wanted the painting to feel less like a place and more like a moment—one of those rare moments when time slows down, and the road ahead feels full of possibility.

Do you see a memory, a destination, or simply a beautiful walk through the woods?

⚽️ One Day After Canada‘s Historic Win

The Ball was created in celebration of Vancouver’s role as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Just days ago, it was released and installed at Melo Patisserie for exhibition.

On June 18, 2026, Canada made history with a 6–0 victory over Qatar.

On June 19, 2026, this painting found a new home with a Vancouver collector.

When Science World was transformed into a giant football, it quickly became one of the city‘s most photographed landmarks.

I wanted to capture not only the structure itself, but also the excitement, anticipation, and shared energy surrounding the World Cup.

Looking back, it feels especially fitting that this piece was collected during such an exciting moment for Canadian soccer and for Vancouver as a World Cup host city.

💛 Heartfelt thanks to the collector for the support, and to Melo for providing such a wonderful space to share my work.

A special piece has found its home.

Pond was painted en plein air at Vancouver’s VanDusen Botanical Garden, inspired by a quiet moment beside still water and shifting reflections.

What stayed with me wasn’t the scene itself, but the feeling — that rare balance between movement and stillness, between observation and reflection.

This work was selected for the 2024 Shape & Form Exhibition by the Federation of Canadian Artists, and was later chosen as the official poster artwork for the 2025 exhibition.

😀 I‘m grateful to the collector for giving this painting its next chapter.

DALLAS DENG | "Harbour of Quiet Light" | Oil on Canvas | 18" x 24”

Editor's Note:

"Burnaby-based impressionist artist Dallas Deng knows his sunsets. Known for his colourful pallet, the artist’s landscapes and seascapes are adept at capturing how the light, atmosphere and movement within each setting look and feel at a specific, spontaneous point in time. For this scene, the artist says, “As the sun lowers over the harbour, anchored boats rest in a field of softened fire. Reflections shimmer across the tide, holding the last warmth of day. This is neither arrival nor departure, but a moment of quiet presence before movement begins.” With its pure colours and softly broken brushstrokes, it perfectly captures the moment’s fleeting, transient sunlight."

Rising Flame
Original oil painting

Some evenings feel larger than the city beneath them.

Along Vancouver’s waterfront, I watched clouds unfold in gold, crimson, violet, and turquoise, carrying a sense of energy that seemed to rise beyond the horizon.

While painting, I wasn't thinking about the buildings below, but about transformation — that moment when something begins to expand, awaken, and move beyond its limits.

Built with thick impasto and sweeping brushwork, Rising Flame is less about a place and more about a feeling.

This one has found its home.😀
Glow Over the Gorge
14″ × 11″, oil on canvas

I’ve always been drawn to places where opposites seem to exist together.

Moving water and solid rock.
Power and stillness.
Light and shadow.

That‘s what I was thinking about while painting this piece.

The river keeps moving, carving its way forward, while the canyon quietly holds everything in place.

I’m grateful that Glow Over the Gorge has now found its collector.

🏛️ Selected for the 2026 Feb & Mar Curated Collection (FCA)

⚽️ The World Cup begins today.

Over the past weeks, Vancouver’s Science World has transformed into a giant football, quickly becoming one of the city’s most photographed landmarks. Like many others, I was fascinated by the sight — but instead of taking another photo, I wanted to capture the moment in paint.

The Ball is my response to this unique chapter in Vancouver’s story. The shimmering water, vibrant reflections, and expressive brushwork reflect not only the excitement surrounding the tournament, but also the energy of a city preparing to welcome the world.

As millions of eyes turn toward the World Cup, this iconic sphere stands quietly on the waterfront — a symbol of celebration, anticipation, and connection.
