This photograph makes the invitation genuinely personal because it shows you already claiming your place on the runway.

✨ THIS IS ME ON THE RUNWAY ✨
When I look at this photograph from my fashion show in 2018, I do not see a woman defined by her wheelchair.
I see a woman feeling beautiful, feminine, confident, and free.
I want other people to experience that feeling too.
My name is Olesia Kornienko. I am the Founder and President of Miss Wheelchair Canada, and I am creating Fashion Without Barriers—an inclusive fashion show planned for November 2026 in Vancouver.
For me, this show is deeply personal.
As a woman who uses a wheelchair and needs assistance with dressing, I cannot choose clothing based only on whether I like it. I must also consider whether it will be comfortable while sitting, work with my wheelchair, and be easy enough for my caregiver to help me put on.
But why should disability mean giving up beauty, elegance, individuality, or style?
With Fashion Without Barriers, I want to create a runway where people with disabilities and people without disabilities are seen together—not separated, compared, or placed into different categories.
I am looking for people who use wheelchairs and able-bodied people who would like to participate in this special show.
You do not need to look like a traditional model. You do not need runway experience. You only need the courage to be yourself and the desire to help us change the way society sees beauty and disability.
Maybe you have always dreamed of being on a runway.
Maybe fashion has never made space for your body.
Or maybe you simply believe that beauty belongs to everyone.
If any part of this speaks to you, I would love to hear from you.

📩 To participate, please send a private message to Miss Wheelchair Canada. Introduce yourself and tell me why you would like to join Fashion Without Barriers.
Let us create a runway where everyone can walk or roll with confidence—and where every person has the freedom to decide how they want the world to see them.
With love,
Olesia Kornienko
