Introducing: Stage Manager Stephen Courtenay 🎭

Stephen has contributed his stage management expertise to about fifty Shakespearean productions over his twenty-seven year career with Bard on the Beach. Prior to that he spent ten years touring with the Vancouver Opera Touring company. In addition, he has worked for many theatres including the Vancouver Playhouse, Theatre Calgary, The Citadel, Studio 58/Green Thumb, Touchstone Theatre, Pi Theatre, the Electric Company and numerous others. Previous ventures have included a number of workshops for newly minted pieces including Leslie Mildiner’s “Coming Up For Air”. Most recently he just completed a well-received run of Kat Sandler’s “Yaga” at the Richmond Gateway Theatre with director Roy Surette. His soundscape for Metro Theatre’s just-closed “The Woman In Black” has been another quiet success. Stephen is pleased to be working with an old friends from previous Bard productions, Kerry Sandomirsky and Mindy Parfit and this talented Artistic and Production team.

The Search Party has teamed up with Kerry Sandomirsky, an established actor in Vancouver, while she begins her newest adventure: producing her first play. 🎭

New Cartography provides mid-career and established artists an opportunity to develop new aspects of their practice. The collaboration encourages a different way of working for everyone. Initiated by the artist, it provides hands-on practical experience in a previously unexplored area of their own creative landscape. Through the New Cartography Program, artists receive mentorship, resources, tools and systems in theatre production.

The Sound Inside is proudly produced by: all day breakfast theatre. Founded by Kerry Sandomirsky, an established actor in Vancouver BC, she begins her newest venture, taking in the roles of both actor, and first time producer. Thanks to New Cartography, an initiative spearheaded by The Search Party, Kerry has received mentorship in theatre production.

Introducing: 💡Lighting Designer, Hina Nishioka💡

Hina is a Japanese Canadian lighting designer for stage and live events based in Metro
Vancouver, BC. Her recent lighting design credits include As You Like It (the Grand Theatre;
original lighting by Gerald King), Comedy of Errors, Measure for Measure (Bard on the Beach
HFS studio), Hurricane Mona, Yaga (Touchstone Theatre), The Musical Spongebob (Capilano
University). She has assisted lighting designers at the companies such as Bard on the Beach,
Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre.

Introducing: Set, Prop, and Costume Designer Peter Wilds 🎭

Peter is an interior designer, who’s firm was established
in 2011. His work has garnered national and
international editorial print and online features in
publications such as Canadian House & Home, Style at
Home, Casa Vogue Brazil and Architectural Digest Italia
and Architectural Digest Mexico. For the second year,
Peter Wilds Design has been selected as one of the top
100 design firms in Canada by Canadian House &
Home.
Prior to his work as a designer, Peter spent a decade
acting with leading theatre companies throughout
Canada, performing recurring roles in episodic
television and lent his voice to numerous animation
series. Peter is thrilled to be a part of the creative team
for The Sound Inside.
