We’re still beaming from our fundraiser, Celebrate Capture, on May 28th!
Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, participants in our paddle raise, and those who donated in absentia, we raised almost $100,000 to support lens-based art in Vancouver.
The funds raised will help us present compelling, urgent lens-based art, amplify the voices of traditionally underrepresented communities, build communities to incite meaningful dialogue between artists, curators, audiences, organisations and institutions, and act as a platform to expand visual literacy.
A huge thank you to the participating artists Vikky Alexander (), Khim Mata Hipol (.mata.hipol), Tom Hsu (), Jake Kimble () and Michelle Sound (.art), who generously donated their work for our event. It is especially meaningful when artists we have worked with give back to our organisation - we are indebted to you for your support.
Co-Chairs Presthaya Fixter () and Kevin Mazzone () and our amazing Fundraising Committee, including Fred Lee (), Leslie Lee, Alison Meredith (), and Joshua McVeity (), conceptualised this event from start to finish, ensuring a fabulous night for all! We are always thankful to our Board, led by Douglas Coupland () and Bruce Munro Wright (), for their enthusiastic encouragement.
