The New Orford String Quartet will appear in Metro Vancouver next week for a pair of chamber music performances. The ensemble will perform on May 8, 2026, at South Delta Baptist Church, followed by a Vancouver concert on May 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Pacific Spirit United Church. Both performances are presented in collaboration with the Vancouver Chamber Music Society.

The program will feature works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Leoš Janáček, and Felix Mendelssohn, alongside music by contemporary Canadian composer Cecilia Livingston. Known for its dynamic performances and refined ensemble playing, the quartet is widely regarded as one of Canada’s leading chamber ensembles.

The concerts also mark a significant milestone for the group, as cellist Joseph Johnson joins the quartet as a permanent member. The upcoming performances will form part of the ensemble’s first official tour with Johnson.
