I am thrilled to share the trailer for our new podcast for . I've been quietly toiling away on this for more than a year with excellent journalist .romer. The podcast is coming out in June but you can hear the trailer and subscribe to the podcast now. It's all about the psychological and spiritual toll of living through planetary decline – loss of landscapes, species, cultural practices, a stable climate – and the ways that people find of moving through these feelings of ecological grief. Fall and winter have been pretty sweet. We hosted my parents from Nova Scotia and got to show them a good time on the west coast. Attended one last screening of 'Trouble in the Headwaters' in Duncan, BC with my friend and mentor Dr. Younes Alila. Got to see 's amazing and hilarious Art Auction performance at What Lab. Took a trip back to Cortes Island with my very fine wife and our boy Murphy. And glimmering out of the torrential rain, I saw some rainbows. Can't complain.

I took a drive out to Abbotsford today to film some of the flooding that's been going on. These are just a few images I took on my phone. I'll post some drone footage later. But it's a disaster zone out here. Wild that we're seeing this again, just 4 years after the 2021 atmospheric river. This is further evidence that floods are becoming more frequent in BC as a result of climate change and land disturbances. Wishing all the best to the people who are affected ❤️

We had an amazing time touring our film 'Trouble in the Headwaters' through the East Kootenays, with stops in Fernie, Golden and Kimberley. Thanks so much to for hosting these events and to everyone who came out and engaged in the discussions. We also got a chance to see some massive clearcut logging in the St. Mary's valley outside Kimberley. And of course BC's trademark clear-cuts flying over the province.

I found some "1950's style" clear-cuts for you. Are you aware of the hydrological science by Dr. Younes Alila linking clearcut logging to an increased magnitude, frequency, and duration of floods? You should check it out. Seems like we should be following the science.

Today at 3pm we are screening the film in Duncan in the Cowichan Valley! Link in bio for details.

It's been a crazy busy and exciting summer so far and I'm finally getting caught up on "insta"gram (which is almost always "later"gram nowadays). I just want to share a few pics of our first two screenings of my film Trouble in the Headwaters. On June 12th, hosted a fantastic premiere at The Vic Theatre in Victoria, with managing editor doing a masterful job of moderating the discussion with myself and Dr. Younes Alila. And on July 5th, Dr. and the Mother Tree Project hosted a double feature of my film and Bill Heath's Salmon Forest Project at UBC Faculty of Forestry, with professors Teresa Ryan and Younes Alila both on the panel and former MLA Mike Morris moderating the discussion. It was an incredible night of forest films and discussion. I'm blessed to be part of an incredible community of brilliant thinkers and change makers. I'm looking forward to bringing my Headwaters doc on tour across BC this September! Stay tuned for screening dates!

I'm so excited that my new film, Trouble in the Headwaters, is getting some serious traction. We've just broken 10,000 views in only 4 days, and we're just getting started. I know views aren't everything, but this film is striking a chord with rural communities across BC who have been screaming from the rooftops about the effects of clearcut logging on floods and have been ignored for far too long. To celebrate this milestone, here's an extended 2-minute trailer. Please go watch the full 25-minute film >>

I'm so grateful to for designing me this absolutely bangin' logo for my production company. And to my brother for making this amazing animated version (slide 2). Scroll through to see some other drafts that Jackie made along the way. Some really cool ideas. I'm super stoked with where we ended up!

I also updated my website, ramshackle.ca (link in bio). It's a nice timeline of my past projects, so if you feel so inclined you can take a trip down memory lane and see a collection of my past films in one place. I've been quietly toiling away over the past year on a new documentary, which will be out this spring, so I'm excited to share that very soon. Thanks again, Jackie and Andrew! ❤️🙏

This Saturday, community groups in Peachland and Kelowna are hosting a FREE online and in-person event with some great speakers about the future of BC's forests and watersheds. Sign up to tune in online (link below) or if you're in the Okanagan, come on out and attend in person. It should be a great discussion. I'll be there doing some filming.
