John Lazarus imagines what might have happened next - a tangled, farcical web of seductions, betrayals, blackmailings and happy endings - featuring a lovesick bellboy, an ambitious young woman reporter, a grande dame of Kingston society, a dangerously handsome local working man, a resourceful and quick-thinking valet, and the witty, charming, legendary Oscar himself.

United Players is holding further auditions for

A SMALL MIRACLE by Peter Collington, directed by Lois Anderson.

A SMALL MIRACLE is an adaptation of Peter Collington’s children’s Christmas storybook, described as a deeply moving, contemporary parable. This is an ensemble show with no scripted dialogue; a chorus will underscore the production. Several characters are portrayed by puppets.

AUDITION TIME : Tuesday Sept. 8th, 5pm - 9pm,

AUDITION VENUE: Jericho Arts Centre, 1675 Discovery St., Vancouver

PERFORMANCE DATES: Nov 27 - Dec 20 (Thurs - Sun)

PERFORMANCE VENUE: Jericho Arts Centre, 1675 Discovery St., Vancouver

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

We are seeking 9 non-union versatile performers with puppeteering and singing abilities for this exciting upcoming production. All auditions are in-person.

We're Looking For:
• Skilled actors of all backgrounds and experience levels
• Performers with puppeteering experience (rod or marionette)
• Confident singers of all vocal types with ability to harmonize

• Excellent physical storytelling and ensemble collaboration skills
• Ability to bring characters to life through movement, voice, and performance

Audition Requirements:
• Prepare one song (to be provided)
• Be prepared to participate in a puppetry and movement workshop during the audition. Puppets will be provided.

United Players is committed to inclusive casting and we welcome performers of all ethnicities, genders, adult ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

We look forward to seeing performers who can combine acting, singing, and puppetry to tell this heartwarming Christmas story. Please provide a brief description of your puppeteering experience in your résumé. Please also indicate any musical instruments that you play.

RUNNING WILDE stars Conor Kavanagh as Oscar, with Sally Clark, Bob Frazer, Patrick Jaworek, Emma Moon, and Russell Zishiri. It is directed by Roy Surette, with costume design by Naomi Lazarus, set design by Starlynn Chen, lighting design by Sam Cheng, sound design by Hannah Patrice, technical direction by Phil Miguel, intimacy direction by Alina Quarin, stage management by Dean Thivierge and Midori O’Connor, and is produced by Linda Begg, with production assistant Jaeden Walton.

RUNNING WILDE runs at the Jericho Arts Centre, Thursdays-Sundays, September 4 - 27.

Tickets: Adults $40, seniors $35, students with ID $15.

Preview: Thursday, September 3rd, all tickets $20.

*** All evening shows now start at 7:30 pm. Matinees remain at 2 pm. ***
