Pride in Chilliwack today!

Today was Fraser Valley Pride at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission. While not as large as Vancouver’s Pride festival, it again wins the award for having the best swag. There were lots of people in attendance, yet no lineups for the FREE rainbow-colored cinnamon buns, popcorn, candies, and many other freebees being handed out. There was a beer garden and stage with entertainment all day long. Lunch at the five-star Blackberry Kitchen Restaurant located right in the park is a wonderful venue with an outdoor patio overlooking the Fraser River and the mountains. If you have never been to Fraser Valley Pride, mark it down for next year. They do a really good job. As well check out Chilliwack Pride on Saturday August 19 where they take over the whole downtown 1881 Historical District attracting 20,000 people.

For Pride month we want to feature the Rainbow Crosswalks of Chilliwack. We have found 12 Pride crosswalks so far. Chilliwack has about 18 Rainbow crosswalks. If you know where the other Chilliwack Rainbow Crosswalks are please leave a note in the comments.

They put up the Pride Banners all around Chilliwack this week. Chilliwack Pride doesn’t happen until Saturday August 19th, 2023, but it never hurts to start decorating and getting ready early. Chilliwack Pride will take place on a Saturday this year so visitors can stay the night without having to rush home afterwards. There will be lots going on. So why not make it a mini getaway from the city.
