We’ve been a little quiet over here, but for a good reason.
OutForm has moved into a new home, we are now at 1670 W 75 Ave, Vancouver.
These past few months have been filled with the kind of work that is not always visible, packing, building, cleaning, moving, setting up, rethinking, and slowly shaping a new space from the ground up. It has been a lot. Beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and meaningful.
If a vessel can carry the presence of its maker, then I believe a space can too. A vessel is never only about form. It is something that holds touch, memory, intention, presence.
If this new studio is also a kind of vessel, I hope it holds warmth, strength, curiosity, and community. I hope it is a space where people can feel something before anything is explained. A place where beauty is not only seen, but felt.
Over the years of being in conversation with clay, I’ve kept returning to the space between the object and the person who encounters it; the invisible dialogue carried through form, movement, structure, and touch. In many ways, shaping this studio has felt like an extension of that same practice.
Our member area reopened on April 15, and last weekend we held our first workshops in the new classroom. Some parts of the studio are still being finished, but it feels so special to see the space beginning to come alive.
Thank you for being here through all of OutForm’s changing forms.
