Bowie wants to go upstairs because the sun is setting. But I don’t lol.

Most birds usually make a fuss at sunset at sunrise, and sometimes lunchtime. I try to replace parrot screaming with words as much as possible 😬

This 12 min video is dedicated to my sweet little Maltese PaiMei (prounounced “Pie May”) and some special moments he shared with Bowie & the Parrotlets.

He passed away last month at home in the early morning of December 26, 2025 st 12 yrs old & 8 months.

He had his health issues, mainly osteoarthritis (Immune Medicated Polyarthritis- IMPA originally diagnosed in 2021, and grade 1 heart murmur from 2018.

He recovered well, but we did a lot of work with keeping him healthy and happy up until the very last day which just happened to be Christmas, his most favourite day.

He had aspirated on food/water shortly before Christmas, and I made the decision to have him with family and not at the vet on Christmas. I had the oxygen concentrator at home (thanks to Smokey’s fans!) which helped him greatly whenever he wasn’t feeling well.

It was a long and stressful 2025 with helping our parents move into assisted living early in the year, dad passing in July, mom’s dementia and hospital stays, my own health issues, work, and caring for PaiMei with 3 medications daily, massages, red light therapy, holistic remedies, special shampoo for his skin, treadmill walks when he couldnt walk outside, and internal medicine monthly vet visits.

Bowie has been such a good boy. He is doing well.

I miss my little man deeply, along with hundreds of friends around the globe on Instagram and YouTube. Im sure he’s running the grassy fields with his angel friends and family.

It’s Bowie’s 16th birthday today!🎊🎂💛

I got a portable sound machine soother for him. It’s sold as a baby toy but perfect to hang close to a cage or for any pet. It has a rechargeable USB port.

He’s still getting used to the machine being around him, so I’ve kept it placed just away from the playgym and by his cage upstairs when nobody’s at home.

Bowie really enjoyed his other toy that had the sola ball attached to it, so I got just the sola balls. He likes it! I put one in his cage overnight & when I checked on him in the morning it was already shredded 🥳

They are made from the Sola plant/tapioca plant root. The fonished wood look like balsa wood, but actually much lighter (snd less expensive!).
