We've been busy at Eikona building our first Art House, available for multipurpose rentals in January of 2025. Besides offering a space for your creative pursuits, business meetings or friendly gatherings, our studio also hosts art events of our own. This video reveals the heart of these events, and invites everyone who interacts with us into our uniquely poetic way of life. It's the first in a series, so be sure to stay tuned!

A double update: new podcast episode, and a beautiful new podcast cover by our friend .

This episode explores the idea of death of self, and enters into specific examples of that: rites of passages, stories of early monastics, and historical iconography. We're thrilled to have , an indispensable member of Eikona, join us for the first time on the podcast as well. He tells us about his epic bike trip across Canada—from Vancouver to Toronto—and how it was a sort of monastic season of its own.

This new cover is the result of some exciting back and forth between Rees and Eikona, and we’re stoked to share it! The image is symbolic of the transformative spiritual experience one has in the presence of beauty.

RILKEAN:

Inspired by the poet Rilke in his poem, “Archaic Torso of Apollo”, we set out to make a short film about the experience of beauty, and how that experience should transform us. The boat, the light, and the black tar on the actor are all symbolic in a simple narrative of beauty and transformation. The lone traveller rows aimlessly, covered in the woes of his past, to accidentally discover something profoundly beautiful. This only seems possible in the night, when time sits still. Enjoy the film: it’s the first link in our bio.

We want to welcome discussion about the film, to cultivate community among those who are passionate about Eikona and its vision. If you have questions, feel free to send us a DM; we’ll be sure to reply with the best answers we can give.

The world opens up in profound ways by opening up to unfamiliar things. We grow as individuals only by sharing life in communion with what’s unknown. |
