📣 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS! VIFF is committed to offering opportunities to those who are from communities that are under or misrepresented in the film industry. We’re currently seeking 15 emerging and aspiring filmmakers to participate in our free Catalyst Mentorship Program to develop creative skill sets and benefit from relationship-building opportunities to bring your project to the next level!

We especially encourage applications from filmmakers who are Black, Indigenous, people of colour and people across the spectrums of gender, sexuality and abilities.

Some film strips from Sunday’s “Tinting & toning motion picture film” workshop for Cineworks! We covered the history, workflow and processes for creative tinting and toning using dyes and metal toners, including ferric ferrocyanide (blue), silver sulfide (sepia), gold (red) and selenium (purple). Come join us July 16th for a three-hour workshop on the bread and butter of all 16mm cameras at our Annex location! This is a great way to build your skills when shooting and exposing for ANY camera. Very portable, very fun.
