Finally wanted to share a first look of in "Child". An unbelievable performance, treating my script as if it truly was the life he led.

A few months left in post production, and I'm unbelievably proud of the work this team has done. Pure love for my first film, with more already on the way.

On the set of "Child". Could not have been more pleased working with , he not only poured himself into the script, but he made it his own. Truly brought a new fresh take to a beautiful story. Thanks for your hard work and looking forward to a bright future working together. 🙏🏼

"Oldboy" (2003)
dir: Park Chan- Wook

Ugh. I'll keep this short, if you've seen this then you know. If you haven't, watch it, or don't it's up to you- I will say you will be different afterwards.

A masterpiece of disturbing proportions.

"No Country for Old Men" (2007)
dir: Ethan Cohen

My favorite of the Cohen's screenplay next to Fargo, No Country is an absolute chilling movie. Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh is probably one of the scariest characters I've ever seen on screen. One of the most accurate psychopathic portrayals in film, this movie hits the mark on all levels.

Perfect pacing, perfect tension building camera work.

"The Aviator" (2004)
dir: Martin Scorsese

"The way of the future". This is another tale of obsession. Scorsese's "The Aviator", re-tells the life of film director, plane designer and pilot, Howard Hughes played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Haunted by his own phobias, habits and lust for love, Hughes strives for obsessive perfection in film and aviation.

Personal story: I saw this movie in the theater at 10 years old. It was the first movie with an R-Rating I'd ever seen in the theater. This film showed me what cinema could be, it was my graduation cap into big boy movies. I will never forget watching ever second of this almost 3 hour epic.

"Kill Bill: Volume 1"
(2003)
dir: Quentin Tarantino

Ah sometimes you just need to settle down with some good comic violence. Tarantino's bolds choice of color palette has always made me gravitate to the directors work. Always a master of a well rounded story, Tarantino carved out a filming making style unique to himself.

PS: the casting of Chiaki Kuriyama from "Battle Royale" as Gogo is *chef's kiss* 🤌🏻

"Control" (2007)
dir: Anton Corbijn

One of the most stunning biopics I have ever seen, Sam Reilly almost seamlessly transforms into Ian Curtis, Joy Division's late front-man. The film depicts Curtis' spiral between fame, mental health, epilepsy, and the 2 loves that tore him apart.

Highly recommended for any Joy Division fans out there.

"Perfect Blue" (1997)
dir: Satoshi Kon

"That's not a film, it's a cartoon." A phrase I've heard many a time, so few times does animation get the credit it deserves. This is a film, a really really creepy one. Satoshi Kon's masterwork, Perfect Blue never ceases to keep me on the edge of my seat no matter how many times I've seen it.

Kon's work has inspired countless Hollywood film, and it pains me everyday knowing a truly culture shaping director was taken way before his time.

"Chungking Express" (1994)
dir: Wong Kar-wai

Wong Kat wai's work never ceases to amaze. This film in particular with it's use of slow shutter and bold color choices is a treat to watch always.

A story revolving love and loneliness, this film bears it all with it's organic portrayals of hopeless romanticism.

Also this movie will make the Cranberrie's song "Dreams", get stuck in your head for days 😵‍💫

It's Sunday so how about a feel good film?

"Garden State" (2004) dir:

This movie saved me from a very sad time in my life. Andrew Largeman is a struggling actor who returns to his hometown in New Jersey in the wake of his mother's death.

After my own mother passed, I was lost and unsure about what to do or how to cope with my feelings. Life was forever changed.

This film helped me learn to surround myself with the people who care about you, and nurture the relationships I have with my family despite any adversity or traumas.
