What does Truth and Reconciliation mean? After many years of listening and learning for me it means to talk about the Truth, to uplift community, to show up and help, to teach my children, to attend protests and mourning vigils, to support MMIWG and to fight for what is right, to buy earrings and artwork from Indigenous artists, to help carry the load at events like Mother's Day Pow Wow, and create opportunities for artists and musicians.

So much love to each and every one of you that have come into my life. Thank you for your resiliency and teachings, as we continue to acknowledge the Truth now we need Action to show our support with UNDRIP, TRC, and calls to Justice being implemented. As well as internationally supporting indigenous people and the struggles created by government and corporate greed.

Today and tomorrow I will be giving these hearts out at community events and encourage dialogue with the community about the next year ahead and how we can work together to create magic. If you are a settler on these lands what are you going to do?

Stephen Lytton will also be sharing at tomorrow's CoffeeHouse

Today will be a rainy Plaza Market at Britannia and Napier off Commercial Drive come support local artists, Indigenous and Settlers, from 2-7pm.

On Sept 30th we will be at Grandview Park to uplift Elders and their families and continue the journey together, and recognize the work we need to do.

Extremely grateful for these lands, trees, waters, and the people from Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations in which I live and work.

And be kind, and compassionate to all creatures big and small. We need love more than ever. 🧡 🇵🇸

July was wonderful. Headed out to Nelson and Salmo and got to see these beautiful people and all their fur babies. Time went by too fast. Checked out rivers, lakes and tried to find some fireworks on top of a mountain, visited the Salmo market, Camped a night with Mansbridge and found a dinosaur fin bone and built a 🔥. 🤣 Spent a few days in Salmo with Laura and Neil! Spent a few days in Nelson with Anie! Thank you friends. 😊 Stopped in Princeton on the way there and back to see Mom and Mark.

Tried something different. Stayed up way too late exploring an idea I had. I used sterling silver wire and kind of weaved it around semi precious stones and pearls with delica seed beads.
The light coloured one is moonstone, rainbow moonstone, a faceted light green chalcedony, and large white pearls with white iridescent delica seed beads.
The dark one has a raw garnet in the centre with sugilite on both sides. Then there are copper coloured pearls in the centre of copper iridescent delica seed beads.
I always enjoy challenging myself and when an idea comes to you while you are breastfeeding your baby to bed, well then one stays up till 1am trying to figure it out right? 😜 They turned out quite pretty and elegant but the lengths are something I need to figure out better the white one is quite small and the copper one quite large.

Some little beaded earring creations.

Beading has always been so special to me. Looking at colours, textures, stones and glass is like meditation to me. I have spent hours just sorting beads and thinking of colour combinations. It was a pastime with my younger sisters growing up. Any chance to check out a bead store was heaven (this was before the internet). When I lived in Whistler between 1998-2004 I sold beaded creations at the Whistler Farmers market, as well as working at the local bead store “Lotus Art Supplies”. I learned to make my own glass beads with some ladies . So many amazing memories fill my heart when I think how beads have connected me to others.
Lately I have stepped back from beading as much. Partly because I was working full time and also because I had children. I have admired many beaders and Indigenous artists. I have a vast collection of beads (a bit of a hoarder) and lately wanted to start to bead again.
I also wanted to support efforts of , and not working much these days I thought I could bead!! So 20% of any earrings sold will be donated to help The Tiny House Warriors fight to protect their sacred lands.

Pricing is as follows- top row $25, middle row $35 and bottom row $45. All have sterling silver earring hooks and are on leather upcycled from The seed beads are delica Japanese seed beads, and the rest are made with various semi-precious stones. If you are interested or have further questions please msg me. I can deliver in Vancouver or shipment would be extra. Thank you! ❤️
