To Our Friends, Fans, and Supporters,

This is to inform that after 12 years of extraordinary productions, Blackbird Theatre concluded its operations in December 2016.

At the close, we look back with pride on all that was accomplished. We wish extend our deepest gratitude to the many artists and designers who brought our productions to life; to the donors and volunteers who supported and enabled our vision; and to our many, loyal audiences – who gave meaning and purpose to all that we undertook.

Acclaimed actor Luisa Jojic (Julia, The Rivals) & Jessie Award-winning director Rachel Peake worked with 15 women in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside on a four-day workshop exploration of Lorca's text in relation to their own lives.
