“To the dead swallow; wakes in hollow tree The drowsy cuckoo, and the humble-bee. Now do a choir of chirping minstrels bring In triumph to the world the youthful Spring.” — Thomas Carew, The Spring

Spring is here!

Manuel Neto was inspired by that feeling you get when the first warm day hits and something in you wakes back up. He and the team had so much fun making this little joyful piece.

A reminder that through all the ups and downs, there is life underneath the cold and chaotic parts of the world, just waiting to bubble up.

We love passion projects, even when they take their time.
To celebrate the completion of one of our very first, which started way back in 2020, we thought it would be fun to give our small screens a break and enjoy it on the big screen with friends. ✨

Join us for the premiere of “Distance”
February 5th at 7 PM
Historic Theatre, The Cultch ()

We will also screen a selection of past passion projects. Stick around after to hang out. 🍻
Limited seating. Tickets available at the link in our bio and directly at thecultch.com/ticket/an-ordinary-film-screening/

2025! You were good to us 🤝

You gave us dots and lines (classic), colourful characters, and a whole lot of search bars. You showed us how to salsa (some are better than others 👀) and gave us the momentum to finish our longest passion project yet. (Stay tuned 🤫).

You gave us good work, good people, and plenty of moments that reminded us why we like doing this together. 🥹 We’re grateful to everyone we worked with this year. 🔥

In line with tradition, heres our edited by our very own producer, Mona Fani. 🤠

Who needs a Christmas yule log when you watch the creation of a molten hot, exploding volcano?

Our designer Avi wanted to push the limits of fluid, 2D animation with her illustrations. We put our heads together, things got wild, and a volcano came out of it. 🌋🔥

Earlier this year, we teamed up with the crew on a bunch of exciting projects, and along the way, we’ve become good friends! This collaboration included not just one, but several videos (plus a few secret explorations). From unveiling AI Mode to the world, to creating sizzle pieces for I/O, and even crafting ads you might’ve spotted out in the wild, it’s been a fun ride.

Here’s a montage featuring some of our favourite moments. ✨

The warmth of the setting sun on your skin. A child’s hand in yours. The comfort of a caring family, a close friendship, a clear purpose.
In these moments, light breaks through and we catch a glimpse of something more.

In partnership with Desiring God, we crafted a slow, cinematic piece that explores how our deepest longings point to something far greater and far sweeter.

This piece for Praxis is all about redemptive entrepreneurship.

What does that even mean? It’s building something that gives more than it takes.

We got to tell that story using the things we love most—simple shapes, thoughtful colour, and animation that doesn’t get in the way.

Big thanks to the Praxis team for letting us be part of it.

Another inspiring collaboration with BibleProject! For this animation, we delved into the profound symbolism of mountains in the Bible—places of revelation, encounter, and transformation that shape many biblical narratives. Through the use of scale and repetitive motifs, we sought to connect each shot, capturing the spiritual significance of these mountains.

Partnering with Missionary, we created a title sequence for their original six-part docuseries, which highlights the stories of men and women who followed the Great Commission around the world.

Inspired by the themes of hope and faith, the animation features draping and unfolding light that cuts through darkness, sweeping across diverse landscapes and setting a contemplative tone for the series.

Driving with music at night can feel almost magical. The way water drops slide across the window, the blurred reflections dancing on wet pavement, the glow of passing streetlights. This feeling, this interplay of light and colour, became the essence of our project.

With the help of the talented Justin Burks and the use of abstraction and simple shapes, “Nightdrive" was born. An experimental piece that captures the mood of a nighttime drive, blending light and color with Ambrose Yu’s rendition of Thom Yorke’s "Dawn Chorus."

We are thrilled to share that Creation, Equilibrium and Nouns all came home with hardware from the first Collision Awards! Our team had complete creative freedom for all three projects which we used to push ourselves in style and concept. Thank you for recognizing the talented folks on each of these teams, Collision Awards. We’re so proud. And congratulations to all the winners!
